The invention relates to a system for processing a slaughtered poultry carcass part at least comprising a back portion and legs, comprising a conveyor for moving the carcass part, suspended, in a conveying direction, and comprising a groin skin cutting device for cutting groin skin while the carcass part is moved past said cutting device, comprising a cutter having an elongate base portion having a cutting edge, a puncturing tip at an upstream end of the cutter, the cutter positioned and configured such that, the puncturing tip punctures groin skin upon movement of the carcass part in the conveying direction thereby creating a puncture hole so that the cutter enters underneath the groin skin, wherein the groin skin is cut by the cutting edge making a cut through the groin skin starting from the puncture hole, as a result of the continued movement of the carcass part.

Deskinning device for removing skin from a poultry leg product, comprising a first leg end which comprises at least a part of an ankle joint, and a second leg end opposite to the first leg end, the first leg end being arranged at a higher level than the second leg end, wherein the device comprises at least one skin removal assembly which is adapted to carry out a deskinning process, a first skinning roller rotatable about an axis of rotation, wherein a first roller end is arranged at a higher level than a second roller end, a counter skinning member arranged adjacent said first skinning roller, a gap between the first skinning roller and the counter skinning member, wherein the skin removal assembly is adapted to pull the skin of the poultry leg product into the gap and towards the first roller end.
Method for cutting a center-cut bone-in turkey thigh part from a turkey thigh
The present invention is a method for cutting a turkey thigh. The method involves skinning the thigh to reveal uniform meat texture on the top part and uneven meat texture indicative of the bottom part. Next, four cuts are made at predetermined locations. These cuts include two longitudinal cuts, made with a handheld knife, designed to create left and right boneless turkey thigh parts; and two transverse cuts, made with a band saw, designed to form top and bottom turkey thigh parts, which contain the femur's proximal and distal ends respectively. Key parameters are applied to ensure accurate cut locations, such as distances from the center of the femur bone, are used for the longitudinal cuts; and distances from visually established top and bottom lines, are used to make transverse cuts. The application of the method results in the creation of the center-cut bone-in turkey thigh part.
POULTRY FOOT CALLUS EXTRACTOR
A machine designed to extract calluses from the footpads of poultry-primarily chickens-comprising a cabinet on the inside of which is mounted a pair of chains between which are mounted a plurality of trays having a circular through-opening in the bottom face thereof. Operatively mounted downstream of the chains is a pair of toothed shafts with motorization means and mounted above this region is a smaller chain which is also motorized. Mounted on said chain is a plurality of assemblies comprised of a base (4) and, mounted thereon, a piston (5), the position of which corresponds to the position of the opening (A) in a tray (B) when the latter is below the region of the smaller chain, wherein the piston (5) and the opening (A) are vertically aligned with each other.

An endless conveyor belt may include a belt body having a belt longitudinal axis and an exterior side. A plurality of protrusions project from the exterior side of the belt body and extend across a width of the belt body substantially transversely to the belt longitudinal axis. A plurality of corresponding valleys are defined between each of the plurality of protrusions and extend across the width of the belt body substantially transversely to the belt longitudinal axis. When a piece of poultry is positioned on the exterior side of the belt body, substantially only a skin portion of the piece of poultry is received within the valleys, and an underlying fat portion and a meat portion of the piece of poultry remains disposed substantially above a top surface of the plurality of protrusions.
