POLYMER-DISPERSED LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION, PREPARATION METHOD OF POLYMER-DISPERSED LIQUID CRYSTAL FILM, AND DISPLAY PANEL
A polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composition, a preparation method of a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal film and a display panel are provided. The polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composition includes a polymer monomer and a liquid crystal molecule, wherein the polymer monomer is a fluorine-containing polyimide monomer chemically bonded to polyaniline, including a polycondensation unit including a fluorine-containing dianhydride monomer and a fluorine-containing diamine monomer. In the present application, conductive polyaniline is chemically bonded to the fluorine-containing polyimide monomer to increase the conductivity of the polyimide monomer. Further, a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal film having a driving voltage lower than 30 V and having excellent insulating property and radiation resistance is obtained.

A liquid crystal display device includes: a substrate; a thin film transistor in a pixel region over the substrate; a common electrode over the thin film transistor; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; and a liquid crystal layer including a plurality of liquid crystal capsules over the common electrode and the pixel electrode, wherein each of the plurality of liquid crystal capsules includes a shell and a core having a plurality of liquid crystal molecules therein, and wherein a gap distance between the liquid crystal molecules in adjacent liquid crystal capsules is equal to or greater than 20 nm and equal to or smaller than 0.3 times of a capsule diameter of the adjacent liquid crystal capsules.

Disclosed herein is a light emitting device and method of manufacturing such a device comprised of a series of photopolymerizable, chiral liquid crystalline layers that can be solvent cast on a substrate. The mixture of chiral materials in each successive layer may be blended in such a way that each layer has the same chiral pitch. Further the chiral materials in each layer may also be blended so that the ordinary and extraordinary refractive indices in each layer match the other layers such that the complete assembly of layers will optically function as a single relatively thick layer of chiral liquid crystal. The chiral nematic material in each layer can spontaneously adopt a helical structure with a helical pitch. The light emitting layers of the light emitting device can further comprise electroluminescent material that emits light into the band edge light propagation modes of the photonic crystal.

The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a polymerizable monomer arranged in the liquid crystal layer; wherein a plurality of polymer walls are arranged in the liquid crystal layer; the polymer wall contacts to the first substrate and the second substrate, and a polymerization direction of the polymerizable monomer in the polymer wall is substantially perpendicular to a thickness direction of the polymer wall. By arranging a plurality of polymer walls to limit the flow of the liquid crystal in a liquid crystal layer, improve an edge roughness of a polymer wall, so as to improve light leakage from an edge of pixels and improve a display effect.
PSA-TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION AND DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING SAME
A PSA-type liquid crystal composition includes a host liquid crystal A and a polymerizable component B, where the host liquid crystal A includes one or more liquid crystal compounds, and the polymerizable component B includes at least one compound selected from compounds of general formula I-1, general formula I-2 and general formula I-3. A liquid crystal display device includes the PSA-type liquid crystal composition above. The PSA-type liquid crystal composition has better intersolubility, cannot be crystallized at a low-temperature environment, can form a relatively stable pretilt angle after the polymerization of the polymerizable component, avoids the image sticking, and inhibits the occurrence of a display defect, such as Zara Particle, during the polymerization.

A light control sheet includes an organic polymer layer that partitions voids, and a liquid crystal composition that contains a non-polymerizable liquid crystal compound and fills the voids. The light control sheet changes the transmittance to visible light by driving the non-polymerizable liquid crystal compound. The liquid crystal composition contains adipate as a non-polymerizable viscosity-reducing agent, and the weight of the non-polymerizable viscosity-reducing agent relative to the weight of the non-polymerizable liquid crystal compound is 1% or more.
