REPROCESSING OF CONTAMINATED REUSABLE DEVICES WITH DIRECT CONTACT OF PRESSURE WAVES
20230125111 · 2023-04-27 · ·

A reusable apparatus, such as a medical instrument or tool, is decontaminated by applying pressure waves with direct contact of the pressure wave applicator to the reusable apparatus in an open bath in a sufficient dosage to remove contamination but without adversely affecting the ability to reuse the apparatus.

Surgical devices with moisture control

A surgical device including a handle assembly, an elongated portion, at least one window, an end effector, and a shroud is disclosed. The at least one window extends through an outer wall of the elongated portion and is configured to allow fluid to travel therethrough from an interior portion of the elongated portion to ambient air. The end effector is configured to selectively engage a distal portion of the elongated portion. The shroud is affixed to the end effector and extends proximally therefrom. The shroud is configured to cover the at least one window when the end effector is engaged with the elongated portion.

Cleaning brush

The disclosure provides a cleaning brush configured to clean a working channel of the endoscope. The cleaning brush comprises a first joint, a second joint and a plurality of cleaning units, the plurality of cleaning units are sequentially connected, each cleaning unit comprises a cleaning portion configured to be in contact with the working channel of the endoscope, and the hardness of the cleaning portions of at least two cleaning units in the plurality of cleaning units is different. The first joint and the second joint are respectively connected with two outermost cleaning units in the plurality of cleaning units, and the first joint and the second joint are configured to be connected to make a ring-shaped cleaning brush. The cleaning brush is efficient in removing bioburden from the working channel of an endoscope.

System and method for probe cleaning and disinfecting

Embodiments of the invention are directed to apparatuses and methods for cleaning and disinfecting probes. A cleaner is utilized to remove foreign materials (e.g., bioburden, soil, and other like material) from the probe after it is removed from the patient by soaking and/or flushing the foreign materials from the probe. The cleaner may be an enzymatic detergent that has bacteriostatic properties to inhibit bacterial growth within the apparatus. The multiple enzymes in the cleaner attack the foreign material, and include low-foam properties for effective recirculation across cycles within the cleaning step. The probe is rinsed after the cleaning step, and after rinsing a disinfectant process is applied to the probe. The disinfectant soaks and/or flushes the probe for a specified amount of time across cycles of recirculation to disinfect the surface of the probe, and afterwards the probe is rinsed thoroughly to remove the disinfectant from the probe.

Accumulator apparatus for use in sterilization

A decontamination system for a device, such as a lumen device, is provided. The decontamination system includes a terminal package defining a device receiving area. The terminal package includes a fluid inlet through which sterilant fluid can be delivered to the device receiving area. An accumulator apparatus is provided that is configured to switch between trapping sterilant fluid delivered into the device receiving area and delivering sterilant fluid to the device receiving area based on pressure changes in the device receiving area.

CUTTING TOOL CLEANING ACCESSORY

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and medical device accessories. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a tool or accessory for cleaning a medical device. For example, the tool or accessory may clean a fluid delivery lumen of an endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) knife. The tool or accessory may include a housing with a first portion of an elongate member secured within a first portion of the housing and a second portion of the elongate member extending into a chamber of the housing.

Methods, systems, and devices for sealing and flusing a delivery system

A method for sealing and flushing a delivery member includes sealing one or more lumens and flushing air from the one or more lumens. An interventional device delivery system includes a handle assembly and a delivery member. The handle assembly includes a catheter holder with a passageway therethrough. A flush block is associated with the catheter holder and has a flush port and a flush chamber. The delivery member is associated with the handle assembly and includes a plurality of catheters. At least one of the catheters has a proximal end disposed within the passageway in the catheter holder and is in fluid communication with the flush chamber.

DRYNESS TESTING DEVICE

A minimally invasive device for cleaning surgical instruments includes a rod having first and second ends. The rod includes a primary section with a primary outer diameter, and an adjacent, reduced section having a reduced outer diameter, the reduced outer diameter being smaller than the primary outer diameter. A shoulder is defined where the primary section and the reduced section abut one another. A sponge assembly is fitted about the first end of the rod distally from the shoulder. A sheath extends over at least a portion of the sponge assembly and at least a portion of the reduced section and terminates at the shoulder, the sheath having an installed outer diameter substantially the same as the primary outer diameter.

SUSPENSION CLEANING

A method of cleaning a contaminated surface, such as cleaning the elongate interior lumen of an endoscope contaminated with flesh, bone, blood, mucous, faeces or biofilm, said method comprising the steps of: providing a suspension of solid particles in a liquid to said contaminated surface, and flowing said suspension along said surface thereby to remove contaminant from the surface. The suspension is preferably a paste, where the solid material may be e.g. crystals of a salt, silicon oxide or organic material. The paste preferably has a solid fraction between 5 and 55%. A rheology modifier may be present.
