MEDICAL TOOL WORK SUPPORT SYSTEM, MEDICAL TOOL WORK SUPPORT METHOD, AND MEDICAL TOOL WORK SUPPORT PROGRAM
A medical tool work support system, a medical tool work support method, and a medical tool work support program alleviate a workload on a user. The medical tool work support system includes a display, a memory that stores data indicating a work procedure on a medical tool in a work step to be performed for surgery using the medical tool, and a display controller that causes the display to display the work procedure based on the data stored in the memory.
Medical Device Inspection and Sterilization
A method of ensuring the structural integrity and decontamination of a medical device includes inserting a distal end of a borescope into a lumen of the medical device, where the distal end of the borescope has an imaging portion and at least one decontamination portion, typically a UV light and a fluid sterilant or bactericide. The method includes determining both whether the lumen wall has been damaged, and whether contaminants reside on the wall, by visually inspecting the wall with the imaging portion of the borescope, and then decontaminating the wall with the decontaminating portion of the borescope. Device processing data digitally associated with the medical device is retrieved with a unique device identifier, and additional device processing data resulting from the current inspection and sterilization process is added for use by subsequent device handlers, typically by adding it to a distributed ledger, such as a blockchain.
POLARITY OF HALL MAGNET TO DETECT MISLOADED CARTRIDGE
A surgical stapling system including a shaft assembly transmits actuation motions from an actuator and an end effector compresses and staples tissue. The end effector comprises an channel; an anvil having a staple forming surface is moveable relative to the channel between open and closed positions; the anvil having a magnet at the distal end; and a staple cartridge removably positionable within the channel. The staple cartridge comprises a body supported for a confronting relationship with the anvil in its closed position; a plurality of staple drivers located within the cartridge body support a staple; a Hall effect sensor located at the distal end of the body; and a microprocessor in communication with the Hall effect sensor. The Hall effect sensor and microprocessor receive power when the staple cartridge is positioned within the channel, and the system is operable to identify the staple cartridge.
METHOD AND APARATUS FOR MONITORING FLUID PROPERTIES RELATING TO MEDICAL DEVICE'S CLEANLINESS
Embodiments of the present disclosure include methods and apparatuses for monitoring fluid properties relating to a medical device's cleanliness. In embodiments, an apparatus for monitoring the fluid properties relating to a medical device's cleanliness comprises at least one sensor that measures a pre-cleaning parameters of a cleaning fluid and a post-cleaning parameters of the cleaning fluid, a cleaning chamber coupled to the at least one sensor, the cleaning chamber configured to receive the medical device and clean the medical device using the cleaning fluid, and a processing device coupled to the at least one sensor. The processing device is configured to: determine a cleanliness of the medical device based on a comparison between the post-cleaning parameters and the pre-cleaning parameters; and output the cleanliness of the medical device to a display device.
Cleaning indicator and method of using same
A cleaning indicator including a substrate having an image upon it that can be interrogated to assist in monitoring a process for washing articles in a washing machine system. The image can be a printed image, which in turn is covered at least partially by a test soil to be removed by the washing process. Alternatively, the test soil can be formed into an image on the substrate. The cleaning indicator can be imaged before the start of a washing process to allow the washing process to proceed only if the appropriate image is observed. The cleaning indicator can be imaged during operation of the washing process, and when a criterion for cleanliness is met, the washing process can be automatically terminated. A washing system for using the cleaning indicator in an automated washing process is also disclosed.
Smart cartridge wake up operation and data retention
An electronic system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a microprocessor, a supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a sensor, and an over current/voltage protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The over current/voltage protection circuit comprises a current limit switch. The current limit switch comprises a current resistor coupled to an amplifier, wherein, when the amplifier detects a surge current above a predetermined threshold, the amplifier activates a circuit breaker to interrupt the surge current, and wherein when the surge current is remedied, the supplementary power supply circuit rejoins the main power supply circuit and is configured to supply power to the sensor.
Circuitry and sensors for powered medical device
An electronic system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit, a supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit, and a sleep mode monitor coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The sleep mode monitor is configured to indicate one or more sleep mode conditions. The electronic system further comprises a device state monitor coupled to the primary circuit, the device state monitor configured to sense a state of various electrical and mechanical subsystems of the surgical instrument.
PRE-CLEANING SYSTEM FOR FLEXIBLE ENDOSCOPES: BATH AND METHOD
