MEDICAL APPARATUS WITH EMBEDDED MARKING

A medical apparatus configured for insertion directly or indirectly into a living body is provided with a coloring part having a marking formed on an outer surface. The marking has a coloring layer of an acrylic resin containing a pigment and a protective layer of a polymethacrylic ester covering the coloring layer directly or indirectly, and an upper surface of the coloring part is recessed from a part of the medical apparatus, such as a covering tube of a sheath of an endoscope treatment instrument, adjacent to the coloring part on the outer surface.

A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed.

Tamper-evident indicator wraps

Systems and methods include tamper-evident indicators applied to a band comprising a strap that forms a closed loop. Tamper-evident sections of the indicators provide increased security against accidental and intentional removal of the indicators. Indicators are provided with adhesives and bare areas devoid of adhesive allowing easy and secure application of indicators to bands while they are being worn and with greater ease. Indicators can be further provided with liners protecting the adhesives allowing the indicators to be easily applied by gloved hands, reducing contamination risks. Contamination and wear risks can be further reduced by supplying indicators with antimicrobial surfaces and overprint varnishing.

Systems and methods are provided for determining acceptable ranges of pressures for use by a robotic arm on a surgical instrument, robotic systems and methods that are limited to using the acceptable ranges of pressures, and the medical devices for use in the robotic surgery. Learning software is included in the methods and systems for correlating manually-performed procedures with pressure sensors as a tactile gauge for qualifying the acceptable ranges of pressures for use by a robotic system. Robotic systems and methods are provided for (i) locating tissue borders of a surgical site, (ii) identifying a preferred pressure, and (iii) transmitting the data to the computer to avoid violating the integrity of tissue surrounding the surgical site.

OPTICAL TRACKING DEVICE WITH BUILT-IN STRUCTURED LIGHT MODULE

A system is disclosed that includes an optical tracking device and a surgical computing device. The optical tracking device includes a structured light module and an optical module that includes an image sensor and is spaced from the structured light module at a known distance. The surgical computing device includes a display device, a non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions, and processor(s) configured to execute the instructions to generate a depth map from a first image captured by the image sensor during projection of a pattern into a surgical environment by the structured light module. The pattern is projected in a near-infrared (NIR) spectrum. The processor(s) are further configured to execute the stored instructions to reconstruct a 3D surface of anatomical structure(s) based on the generated depth map. Additionally, the processor(s) are configured to execute the stored instructions to output the reconstructed 3D surface to the display device.
