MARINE FUEL COMPOSITIONS WITH REDUCED ENGINE FRICTIONAL LOSSES
Marine gas oil compositions corresponding to fuels and/or fuel blending components are provided that can provide improved friction properties within an engine. Addition of lubricant base stock to a marine gas oil composition can reduce frictional losses within an engine during operation. The benefits in reduction of frictional losses can be observed based on the difference between the indicated mean effective pressure and the actual work delivered by an engine, where the difference corresponds to the frictional mean effective pressure.
METHOD FOR REDUCING LOW SPEED PRE-IGNITION
Use of an unleaded gasoline fuel composition for reducing the occurrence of Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) in a spark-ignition internal combustion engine, wherein the unleaded gasoline fuel composition comprises a gasoline base fuel and detergent additive package, wherein the detergent additive package comprises a Mannich base detergent mixture, wherein the mixture comprises a first Mannich base detergent component derived from a di- or polyamine and a second Mannich base detergent component derived from a monoamine, wherein the weight ratio of the first Mannich base detergent to the second Mannich base detergent mixture ranges from about 1:6 to about 3:1, and wherein the spark-ignition internal combustion engine is lubricated with a lubricant composition comprising from 1200 ppmw to 3000 ppmw of calcium, based on the total lubricant composition.
Dispersions Of Polymeric Oil Additives
The invention provides dispersions comprising I) at least one oil-soluble polymer effective as a cold flow improver for mineral oils, II) at least one organic, water-immiscible solvent, III) a dispersant comprising, based on the total amount of dispersant, a) 10-90% by weight of a salt of an ethercarboxylic acid and b) 90-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, IV) water and V) at least one organic, water-miscible solvent.
Additive formulation and method of using same
A fuel additive formulation, method of use, and method of producing the fuel additive formulation are described. The fuel additive of the present disclosure comprises a mixture of nitroparaffins comprising nitropropane and nitromethane, a lubricant, and an aromatic hydrocarbon. The fuel additive formulation is substantially free of nitroethane. The combustion in an internal combustion engine of a fuel containing the additive results in reduced emissions relative to the combustion of a fuel not containing the additive.
MARINE FUEL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A marine fuel composition for use in marine engines comprising a fuel component selected from the group consisting of high sulfur fuel oil, low sulfur fuel oil, slurry oil from a fluid catalytic cracker, heavy coker gas oil, light cycle oil from a fluid catalytic cracker, vacuum tower bottoms, atmospheric tower bottoms, low sulfur straight run, high sulfur straight run, distillate base stock, low sulfur vacuum gas oil, high sulfur vacuum gas oil, cracked or straight run fuel oil, straight run gas oil, ultra low sulfur heating oil, residues, and combinations of the same, present in an amount between 10 vol % and 99.9 vol %, and a lubricity component selected from the group consisting of a base oil, an aromatic extract, and combinations of the same, wherein a sulfur content is between 0.101 wt % and 5 wt %.
AMINE SALTS FOR USE IN GASOLINE ENGINES
Fuel compositions comprising at least 10 ppm by weight of a succinic ester acid amine salt or a succinamide acid amine salt (both amine salt(s)). The amine salt is the product of (a) and (b), wherein: (a) is an amine with (i) at least one tertiary nitrogen and (ii) at least one hydroxy alkyl functional group and/or at least one secondary amine functionality; and (b) is a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acid/or anhydride. The molar ratio of (a) to (b) may range from 3:1 to 1:3. The fuel composition may comprise gasoline, oxygenate, or mixtures thereof. Methods and uses for reducing carbonaceous deposits in an engine comprising operating the engine using the fuel composition having an amine salt therein.
Systems and Methods for Renewable Fuel
The present application generally relates to the introduction of a renewable fuel oil as a feedstock into refinery systems or field upgrading equipment. For example, the present application is directed to methods of introducing a liquid thermally produced from biomass into a petroleum conversion unit; for example, a refinery fluid catalytic cracker (FCC), a coker, a field upgrader system, a hydrocracker, and/or hydrotreating unit; for co-processing with petroleum fractions, petroleum fraction reactants, and/or petroleum fraction feedstocks and the products, e.g., fuels, and uses and value of the products resulting therefrom.
