CONTROL ACCESS VERIFICATION OF A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL
A computing system may identify a surgical instrument for a surgical procedure in an operating room (OR). The computing system may detect a control input by a health care professional (HCP) to control the surgical instrument. The computing system may determine the HCP's access control level associated with the surgical instrument. The computing system may determine whether the HCP has an authorization to control the surgical instrument. If the computing system determines that HCP is unauthorized to control the surgical instrument based on the access control level associated with the HCP, the computing system may block the control input by the HCP. If the computing system determines that the HCP is authorized to control the surgical instrument based on the access control level associated with the HCP, the computing system may effectuate the control input by the HCP to control the surgical instrument.
STAPLING INSTRUMENT COMPRISING JAW MOUNTS
A surgical instrument comprising a first jaw, a moveable second jaw, and one or more mounting brackets that retain said second jaw to said first jaw is disclosed.
RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION PROCESS INDICATOR AND READER
Disclosed embodiments can pertain to process indicator enhancements. A process indicator can include a dye material that has electrical properties such as conductivity and capacitance that can be employed to determine whether observed conditions are acceptable or not to sterilize medical equipment. Furthermore, the indicators can employ amplification, a specialized antenna, or both to allow signals, such as an electronic property value, to be communicated through sterilization containers that can shield or degrade signals. A number and location of indicators can also be determined and utilized to assist in visual inspection of the indicators as well as automatic evaluation.
TISSUE RESECTING INSTRUMENT
An end effector assembly of a tissue-resecting device is disclosed. The end effector assembly includes an outer shaft and an inner shaft. The outer shaft includes an outer shaft window defined within a distal end portion thereof. The outer shaft window defines an outer shaft cutting edge extending about at least a portion of a perimeter thereof. The outer shaft cutting edge includes a plurality of teeth. The inner shaft is disposed within and rotatable relative to the outer shaft, and includes an inner shaft window defined within a distal end portion thereof. The inner shaft window defines a toothless inner shaft cutting edge extending about at least a portion of a perimeter thereof. Rotation of the inner shaft relative to the outer shaft causes the inner shaft cutting edge to rotate toward the outer shaft cutting edge.

System and method for manufacturing custom nails
A system and method for manufacturing custom fit artificial nails includes a 3D surface scanning module and a 3D printing module and use thereof. A central processing module is connected to the 3D surface scanning module and the 3D printing module and performs: operating the 3D surface scanning module to obtain an image of a user's hands/feet; processing the image to create an input 3D model of nails of the user; generating an output 3D model corresponding to artificial nails matching dimensions of the user's nails according to the 3D input model; operating the 3D printing module to manufacture artificial nails according to the output 3D model; and generating medical data by correlating the identified features of the user's nails with known medical conditions, in order to diagnose a medical condition of the user which is known to exhibit the identified features as a symptom. Alternatively, or additionally, medicinal ingredient may be included in the artificial nail to treat the medical condition of the user. Embedded devices, sensors or an RFID chip may be integrated into the artificial nail.
Surgical robot systems comprising robotic telemanipulators and integrated laparoscopy
Surgical robot systems for remote manipulation having robotic telemanipulators are provided. The surgical robot systems are well adapted for use by the surgeon, seamlessly integrateable into the operation room, allow for a surgeon to work between the robot and the patient throughout a surgery in a sterile manner, are relatively low cost, and/or permit integrated laparoscopy. The system preferably includes a master console having a plurality of master links interconnected by a plurality of master joints, and a handle coupled to the master console for operating the telemanipulator. The system further includes a slave console operatively coupled to the master console and having a plurality of slave links interconnected by a plurality of slave joints that move responsive to movement at the master console to permit an end-effector to perform surgery.
