METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR ISOLATION AND/OR SEPARATION OF PRODUCTS FROM PRODUCTION PROCESSES
The present invention relates to separation of desired target products from biological, plant, and waste-type material, wherein the desired target products include renewable fuels such as ethanol, biobutanol, and biodiesel, wherein the separation is conducted with a cross-flow filtration system having the ability to separate desired products from both non-viscous and viscous medium.
Viscosity reduction of heavy oils by cashew nut shell liquid formulations
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods of use of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) and its derivatives as one of the components for decreasing the viscosity of heavy oils, extra heavy oils, high asphaltene natural bitumen, and tar sands (i.e., heavy oils). The decrease in viscosity of heavy oils increases the ability of the heavy oil mixture to be piped, transported, stored and used. The present disclosure provides compositions containing at least one of anacardic acid, cardanol and cardol, and at least one of a surfactant, a co-solvent, and water. The present disclosure provides compositions that are useful as viscosity reducing agents, heavy oil upgrading agents, wellbore cleaning agents, enhanced oil recovery agents, and cleaning agents for asphaltene-containing materials. Biofuel compositions are also provided by the present disclosure.
PROCESS FOR ONE-POT LIQUEFACTION OF BIOMASS OR COAL AND BIOMASS
Disclosed is a process for the one-pot liquefaction of a biomass or coal and a biomass, the process comprising: first preparing a slurry containing a catalyst, a vulcanizing agent and a biomass (and coal), and then introducing hydrogen gas into the slurry to carry out a reaction. Preparing the slurry comprises: subjecting a biomass (and coal) sequentially to drying, a first pulverization, compression and a second pulverization, then mixing same with a catalyst and a vulcanizing agent to obtain a mixture, and adding the mixture to an oil product for grinding and pulping to obtain a biomass slurry. By means of the treatment process of subjecting the straw firstly to compression and then to a second pulverization, the volume of the straw is greatly reduced, thereby facilitating the dispersion thereof in the oil product, increasing the concentration of the reaction material, and improving the delivery amount of the biomass per unit time by means of a pump; Furthermore, the conversion rate of the biomass is also improved.
Utilization of transgenic high oleic soybean oil in industrial applications
Oil compositions derived from transgenic soybeans having a high concentration of oleic acid are described for use in various applications including use to enhance the low temperature pour characteristics of engine fluids. Such oil compositions are useful as lubricants, rail curve grease and engine penetrants.
Oil extraction aids in bioproduct production
A method is provided for the use of a process additive system to improve the recovery of oil from a process stream generated in a bioproduct production process.
Gasoline engine lubricant
An engine lubricant comprising an oil and additives and method of making and using the same. The engine lubricant is based on process of sequentially combining a specific amount isopropyl alcohol, fuel stabilizer, corn oil and motor oil to produce a lubricant that prevents phase separation. The engine lubricant may be combined with gasoline to produce a two-cycle engine fuel. Alternatively, the engine lubricant may be used to lubricate 4-cycle engines. Prevention of phase separation in the engine lubricant provides longer engine life and reduced engine wear in both two-cycle and four-cycle engines.
COMPOSITIONS FOR MODIFYING FUELS
Described herein are compositions for modifying fuels. The modified fuels are more efficient when compared to conventional fuels such as gasoline. Additionally, the modified fuels burn more efficiently and produce fewer emissions. Finally, the modified fuels also do not require any modifications to existing engines.
Fuel supplement to reduce harmful emissions
The present invention relates to a Fuel Supplement comprising of selected plant oils mixed in given proportions, which when added to fuels like petrol and diesel can reduce harmful emissions during combustion of fuel. It can significantly decrease the Sulphur content in fuels and thus protect the environment from harmful pollutants. It improves the fuel lubricity and engine performance. It also increases the flash point of Diesel.
USE OF MARINE ALGAE FOR CO-PRODUCING ALKENONES, ALKENONE DERIVATIVES, AND CO-PRODUCTS
A method comprising a series of selective extraction techniques for the parallel production of biodiesel and isolation of several valuable co-products including an alkenone hydrocarbon mixture of the kerosene/jet fuel range (primarily C10-, C12-, and C17-hydrocarbons) and fucoxanthin, a high-valued carotenoid, from the marine alkenone-producing microalgae Isochrysis.
Modified fuels and methods of making and using thereof
Described herein are modified fuels with improved properties. The modified fuels are more efficient when compared to conventional fuels such as gasoline. Additionally, the modified fuels burn more efficiently and produce fewer emissions. Finally, the modified fuels also do not require any modifications to existing engines.
