WIRELESS PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH DISPOSABLE SENSOR ACTIVATION
A wireless patient monitoring system includes a host device configured to pair with one or more wireless physiological sensors to receive physiological data therefrom. The host device includes a nearfield communication (NFC) transmitter emitting an electromagnetic field. The system includes at least one wireless physiological sensor having a sensing element that senses physiological parameter information from a patient, a battery, and a field detection circuit configured to detect NFC field and to generate an activation signal thereupon. A sensor controller is configured to operate in a sleep state that maximizes battery power consumption by the wireless physiological sensor and to receive the activation signal from the field detection circuit when the NFC field is detected. After receipt of the activation signal, the sensor controller operates the wireless physiological sensor in an activated mode that enables full power consumption by the wireless physiological sensor.
System for the Obtaining of Data of use for Body Morphometric Analysis and Associated Method
The present invention relates to a system for obtaining useful data for analysis of body morphometry and associated method determining body morphometry, in newborns or non-newborns, from 3D models in an automatic, non-invasive, rapid and low-cost manner. Furthermore, the system and the method obtain the measurement and 3D modeling of the patient, newborn or non-newborn, in a conscious state, as movement has no influence thereon.
Apparatus and Method For Measurement Of Skin-To-Skin Contact Between Neonate And Parent
An apparatus for measurement of skin-to-skin contact between a neonate and a parent of the neonate may comprise a capacitive touch sensor module configured to receive signals from a first electrode and a second electrode, and produce detected contact information associated with the electrodes. The apparatus may further comprise a temperature module configured to measure a temperature of an object within a field of view of the temperature sensor, and to generate a corresponding temperature code. The apparatus may further comprise a clock module configured to time-stamp each collected data sample with a time-of-day code and store the time-stamped data sample on an associated data storage device. The apparatus may further comprise a processor configured to execute computer code instructions that cause the apparatus to coordinate operation of the capacitive touch sensor module, the temperature module, and the clock module.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING LARYNGOPHARYNGEAL PRESSURE AND/OR LOWER OESOPHAGEAL SPHINCTER PRESSURE
Embodiments generally relate to a device for monitoring air pressure in the body of a patient. The device comprises a tube comprising a feeding lumen; a sensor lumen positioned parallel to the feeding lumen; at least one sensor positioned in the sensor lumen; and at least one perforation positioned to expose the at least one sensor to an air pressure within the body of a patient when the device is positioned at least partially in the airway of the patient. The at least one sensor is configured to generate data related to the pressure to which the sensor has been exposed.
ACOUSTIC MIST IONISATION AND NEWBORN DRIED BLOOD SPOT SCREENING
A method of newborn screening (“NBS”) is disclosed comprising directing ultrasonic energy or ultrasonic waves into a metabolite or analyte sample derived from a newborn, neonate or infant so as to cause a mist of charged sample droplets or sample ions to be ejected. The charged sample droplets or sample ions are then mass analysed and a determination is made as to whether or not one or more first metabolites or analytes indicative of a disorder or inborn error are present in the sample.
A METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT TO HELP A MOTHER WITH HER BABY TO FIND OPTIMAL LIFE AND CARE RHYTHM
An intelligent baby caring method and arrangement helps to recognize and maintain emotional interaction between mother and her baby and to improve the baby's life rhythm and calm and soothe him/her automatically when needed and help him/her to fall asleep and to wake up at the most convenient time and way. The aim is to help the mother with her baby to find optimal life and care rhythm. The invention is focused on a platform (101) with many sensors, sensor sheet (120), a transducer to produce acoustic and mechanical vibrations (14) and an airflow blower (132). Sensors are also fixed to the mother (10) and in the care room (198). A sleep/activity graph of the baby and sleep/emotion graph of the mother are measured and tracked with multimodal sensors and an artificial intelligence unit (200) processes audio, motion and airflow actions given to the baby from the platform to help the baby to move from an improper to optimal sleep/activity level.
Method of Manufacturing a Flexible Sensor Belt and a Flexible Sensor Belt
The present document relates to a method of manufacturing a flexible sensor belt suitable for being worn around an abdominal part of a human body, in particular a baby. The method comprising casting of a support layer using a flexible material in a first mould part, such that the support layer comprises one or more holes. Then, one or more electrodes are applied onto the support layer, such that these protrude the one or more holes. The electrodes are made of an electrically conductive material. The method further includes casting of a longitudinal belt section onto the support layer using a second mould part complementary to the first mould part, the casting applying the flexible material. The one or more electrodes are covered with the belt section formed on the support layer. The step of casting the belt section comprises a step of retaining the one or more electrodes using one or more retaining elements.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VIDEO DETECTION OF BREATHING RATES
This disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for video detection of breathing rates in a subject, such as a sleeping baby. One or more video cameras may capture video of the subject. The video may be corrected and then a featured signal may be generated from the corrected video. A respiratory rate detector may be built to output a signal that represents breathing of the subject in the video. The signal may be corrected for any double detections. A breathing rate of the subject may be determined, and then the breathing rate of the subject may be output. In some examples, if the breathing rate is determined to be abnormal, an alarm or notification of the abnormality may be generated, or a moving platform on or in which the subject is sleeping may be moved.
ULTRASOUND BLOOD-FLOW MONITORING
The invention provides a method for monitoring or predicting the onset or progression of a disease or pathological condition and/or a response to treatment in an infant vertebrate animal subject, wherein said method uses unfocused ultrasound pulses to determine a characteristic of blood flow within the brain of the subject and said characteristic or the profile of said characteristic over time is indicative or predictive of the disease or pathological condition or response to treatment, or variation in said characteristic or the profile of said characteristic over time is indicative or predictive of the disease or pathological condition, or indicative or predictive of a change in the disease or pathological condition or response to treatment.
