Uses of the invention include, but are not limited to: applications in oil well/fracking operations where it is necessary or desirable to neutralise bacteria in the extracted liquid; as an additive emulsion for bio-diesel to reduce emissions, such as NOx etc.; and as an additive in the water of heating/cooling systems for its biocidal properties.

An additive used in the production of wood pellets to increase throughput. The additive may be applied as a booster to wood prior to forming the wood into pellets. The booster may comprise 30% to 100% tall oil pitch and 70% to 0% tall oil head and may be applied at a rate of 0.01 to 2 wt. % of the wood.

HYDRODEOXIGENATION PROCESS OF VEGETABLE OILS FOR OBTAINING GREEN DIESEL

The present disclosure relates to a process for the hydrodeoxygenation of vegetable oils or animal fats to produce green diesel, which comprises contacting the vegetable oil or animal fat with a Nickel-Molybdenum or Cobalt-Molybdenum catalyst supported on alumina-titania or titania, respectively; in a fixed bed reactor in the presence of hydrogen. The process involves hydrocracking, hydrogenation, decarboxylation, decarbonylation, carried out in a fixed bed reactor at temperature of about 270 C. to about 360 C., pressure of about 40 kg.sub.f/cm.sup.2 to about 60 kg.sub.f/cm.sup.2, liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) between about 0.8 h.sup.1 to about 3.0 h.sup.1, and H.sub.2/oil ratio of about 2,700 ft.sup.3/bbl to about 7,000 ft.sup.3/bbl, that allows to obtain a conversion up to 99% and up to 92.7% yield on green diesel.

The present invention also discloses the biodiesel having improved cold flow properties, flash point and 57 cetane number with reduced exhaust emission where CO.sub.2 emits approx. 2.96% v/v and CO emits approx. 0.2 ppm % v/v.

The hydrocarbon composition can be used in combination with a fuel or fuel component, especially a jet fuel. Disclosed is also a method to produce a hydrocarbon composition. The isomerized paraffins in the hydrocarbon composition can be from a renewable source.

MICRO-REACTION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING BIODIESEL BY BASE CATALYSIS

A micro-reaction device for preparing biodiesel by base catalysis includes a feeding system, a micro-reaction apparatus, and a separation apparatus. The feeding system is in communication with the micro-reaction apparatus, and the micro-reaction apparatus is in communication with the separation apparatus; the micro-reaction apparatus includes a micro-reactor, and the micro-reactor is a micro-dispersion micro-reactor; in the micro-reaction apparatus, an oil phase and short chain alcohols undergo an ester exchange reaction under base catalysis to generate fatty acid esters and by-product glycerol; and the micro-dispersion reactor is provided with a micro-dispersion structure for dispersing the short chain alcohols into micro-droplets. By the solution of the present application, the intrinsic safety of a process is improved, the reaction time is greatly shortened, the resistance to material flow is lower, the system operating pressure is low, and the single-channel treatment capacity is large, which is 10-500 times that of a micro-channel reactor.
