MINIATURE ECG DATA ACQUISITION DEVICE
An apparatus for generating ECG recordings and a method for using the same are disclosed. The apparatus includes a handheld device having four electrodes on an outer surface thereof, the handheld device having an extended configuration and a storage configuration. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to measure signals between the electrodes to provide signals that are used to generate an ECG recording selected from the group consisting of standard lead traces and precordial traces. When the handheld device is in the extended configuration and the first and second electrodes contact a first hand of a patient such that the first and second electrodes contact different locations on the first hand, the third electrode is in contact with a location on the patient's other hand and the fourth electrode contacts a point on the patient's body that depends on the particular trace being measured.
METHOD OF OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method of operating a motor vehicle includes detecting at least one motor vehicle driver response, producing a perception model based on the detected motor vehicle driver response, and analyzing the perception model to at avoid least one motor vehicle driver response by adjusting a parameter of the motor vehicle. Analysis of the perception model can also be carried out to predict a motor vehicle driver response, in particular during the generation of new control software for the vehicle.
MONTAGE DESIGN FOR CLOSED LOOP SENSING AND NEUROSTIMULATION OF THE DORSAL LATERAL PREFRONTAL CORTEX AND/OR MOTOR CORTEX
Described is a system for automatic adjustment of neurostimulation. The system controls stimulation of specific neural regions through a neural device positioned on a human subject, while simultaneously performing recordings from the neural device using a targeted arrangement of stimulating electrodes and distinct types of recording electrodes of the neural device. Stimulation of the specific neural regions is adjusted in real-time based on the recordings from the neural device.
TROUBLE SHOOTING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BIO-SIGNAL SENSOR EQUIPPED IN VEHICLE
A fault diagnosis method for a bio-signal sensor for the vehicle includes measuring a first bio-signal through the bio-signal sensor in response to a seating detecting signal, measuring a second bio-signal through the bio-signal sensor in response to input through an on-board interface, and determining whether the bio-signal sensor may have malfunctioned according to whether the second bio-signal includes a signal deviating from a range set in response to the first bio-signal.
NON-CONTACT BODY AND HEAD BASED MONITORING OF BRAIN ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY
Apparatus and methods for monitoring electrical activity within the brain of a person (“brainwaves”) employing electrodes or other sensors placed proximate to portions of the body below the head to develop raw signals without physically touching the body and penetrating hair and clothing. Additionally, apparatus and methods for monitoring electrical activity within the brain of a person (“brainwaves”) employing non-contacting sensors placed proximate to portions of the head to develop raw signals. The raw signals are filtered to produce analysis signals including frequency components relevant to brain electrical activity while attenuating unrelated frequency components. The apparatus and methods can be used for biofeedback-based attention training, human performance training, gaming, biometrics, cognitive state detection, and relaxation training. Either wired or wireless signal connections are made to electronic circuitry, typically including a digital computer, for performing signal processing and analysis functions.
Arousal-level determining apparatus and arousal-level determining method
An arousal-level determining apparatus includes a generating unit, a calculating unit, an identifying unit, and a determining unit. The generating unit generates heartbeat-interval variation data, which indicates changes in heartbeat interval, on the basis of heartbeat signals indicating subject's heartbeats. The calculating unit applies a band-pass filter, which allows passage of a certain range of frequencies, to each frequency band in the heartbeat-interval variation data while changing the frequency band, and calculates spectral density with respect to each frequency band applied with the band-pass filter. The identifying unit identifies a feature point corresponding to a spectral density peak in the calculated spectral densities in the frequency bands. The determining unit determines subject's arousal level on the basis of the identified feature point.
BUCKLE AND ON-VEHICLE SYSTEM
A buckle includes a main body connectable to a tongue attached to a seatbelt of a vehicle, a sensor disposed in the main body or in a support member that supports the main body, the sensor configured to produce a sensor output signal whose waveform changes in response to movement of an object situated in a seat of the vehicle, a detection unit configured to detect, from the sensor output signal produced by the sensor, vital-sign signal components indicative of a vital sign that is at least either respiration or pulse beat, a generation unit configured to evaluate reliability of the vital-sign signal components detected by the detection unit and to generate vital-sign information about the vital sign from a reliable one of the vital-sign signal components, and an output unit configured to output the vital-sign information generated by the generation unit.
Biometric and environmental monitoring and control system
The present invention is a wearable device for comprehensive bio-monitoring of physiologic metrics to determine metabolic, pulmonary and cardiac function and oxygen saturation measurements from breathing mask apparatuses. The device non-invasively monitors the physiologic profile of the subject, and is capable of detecting physiologic changes, predicting onset of symptoms, and alerting the wearer or another person or system. In some embodiments, the device comprises both a wearable sensor suite and a portable gas composition and flow analysis system. In preferred embodiments, it comprises a miniaturized non-invasive sensor suite for detecting physiologic changes to detect dangerous breathing or other health conditions. The system utilizes advanced fast-response sensors with improved efficiency and lifespan, and provides rapid analysis for substantially real-time monitoring of the subject's present condition to predict, mitigate and/or prevent the onset of dangerous conditions.
Display control apparatus, display control method of display control apparatus, and eye gaze direction detection system
It is determined whether a driver is gazing at a gaze target object in the eye gaze direction, and the eye gaze of the driver is guided by changing a display mode of the gaze target object determined to be gazed at by the driver. Calibration of eye gaze direction detection information is accurately and promptly executed.
