Steel cord for rubber reinforcement and method for manufacturing the same
The present invention relates to a steel cord for rubber reinforcement. In the steel cord of the present invention, cobalt is contained by 0.001 ppm to 0.1 ppm within a 4 nm top-surface of the brass-plated steel wire. A method of manufacturing the steel cord includes: providing a brass-plated steel wire; mixing a cobalt compound in a wet lubricant filled in a wet drawing bath provided with a plurality of drawing dies between one pair of multi-stage drawing cones such that the concentration of the cobalt compound becomes 0.1 ppm to 100 ppm; and causing the cobalt to be contained by 0.001 ppm to 0.1 ppm within a 4 nm top-surface of the brass-plated steel wire after the brass-plated steel wire passes through a final die by causing the cobalt to be attached to a surface of the brass-plated steel wire and alloyed with a brass layer while the brass-plated steel wire is passing through the drawing cones and the drawing dies to be subjected to multi-stage drawing.

GREASE COMPOSITION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a grease composition, for an outer ring rotation type rolling bearing, which is capable of satisfying all of high-temperature durability, low-temperature property, peeling resistance, and rust-preventive property. A grease composition (7) to be enclosed in the outer rig rotation type rolling bearing for use in automotive electric auxiliary machines contains base oil, a thickener, a peeling-resistant additive, a wear-resistant additive, and a rust-preventive agent. The base oil is mixed oil of trimellitic acid ester oil and synthetic hydrocarbon oil mixed therewith in a mass ratio of (70:30) to (90:10). The thickener consists of a diurea compound shown by a formula (1).
R.sup.1NHCONHR.sup.2NHCONHR.sup.1(1)
wherein a reference symbol R.sup.2 denotes a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 6 to 15, and a reference symbol R.sup.1 denotes a cyclohexyl group.
Biological method for preventing rancidity, spoilage and instability of hydrocarbon and water emulsions and for increasing the lubricity of the same
A hydrocarbon and water emulsion comprising at least one copper salt of a carboxylic acid.
Biological method for preventing rancidity, spoilage and instability of hydrocarbon and water emulsions and also increase the lubricity of the same
A method for preventing degradation of physical and chemical properties, and for increasing lubricity, of a hydrocarbon and water emulsion, comprising adding to the emulsion an effective amount of at least one copper salt of a carboxylic acid for enabling at least one bacterium species from Pseudomonas genus to become dominant in the emulsion.

Lubricating oils with viscosity index improver concentrates
The disclosure relates to viscosity improver concentrates comprising a bio-based liquid decarboxylated rosin acid as a solubilizer, and a viscosity index improver. The viscosity improver concentrate is used in lubricating oil compositions comprising base oil and optional additives. The decarboxylated rosin acid component has at least one or more of: one or more CC groups, and 40-100 wt. % of tricyclic compounds having 18-20 carbon atoms; a sum of tricyclic compounds as aromatic and cycloaliphatic of 50-100 wt. %, based on total weight of the decarboxylated rosin acid; and an amount of cycloaliphatic compounds of 15-100 wt. %, based on total weight of the decarboxylated rosin acid. The viscosity improver concentrates comprising the solubilizer have comparable properties, including compatibility, kinematic viscosity, and viscosity index, to other commonly used fossil based solubilizers.
