Provided is an internal combustion engine lubricating oil composition having a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity; a combination of alkaline earth metal alkylhydroxybenzoate detergents; at least about 50 to about 500 ppm of boron from a boron containing detergent; a molybdenum containing compound in an amount to provide the lubricating oil composition from about 100 to about 1500 ppm molybdenum; a ZnDTP compound; where the composition comprises magnesium in an amount from about 100 to about 800 ppm, and calcium in an amount from about 500 to about 2000 ppm.

A lubricating oil composition including: a lubricating base oil; (A) a poly(meth)acrylate having a weight average molecular weight of no more than 50,000, in an amount of 2 to 10 mass %; (B) a phosphite ester of the general formula (1) in an amount of 0.01 to 0.06 mass % in terms of P; (C) a thiadiazole compound in an amount of 0.01 to 0.2 mass %; and (D) a Ca salicylate detergent in an amount of 0.005 to 0.03 mass % in terms of Ca, wherein the lubricating oil composition has a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 4.0 to 20.0 mm.sup.2/s, and a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 1.8 to 5.2 mm.sup.2/s; and has a ratio [S]/[P] of 2.2 to 4.0, wherein the [S] represents a sulfur content, and the [P] represents a phosphorus content: ##STR00001##

A lubricating oil composition including: a lubricating base oil; (A) a poly(meth)acrylate having a weight average molecular weight of no more than 50,000, in an amount of 2 to 10 mass %; (B) a phosphite ester of the general formula (1) in an amount of 0.01 to 0.06 mass % in terms of P; (C) a thiadiazole compound in an amount of 0.01 to 0.2 mass %; and (D) a Ca salicylate detergent in an amount of 0.005 to 0.03 mass % in terms of Ca, wherein the lubricating oil composition has a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 4.0 to 20.0 mm.sup.2/s, and a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 1.8 to 5.2 mm.sup.2/s; and has a ratio [S]/[P] of 2.2 to 4.0, wherein the [S] represents a sulfur content, and the [P] represents a phosphorus content: ##STR00001##

System, composition and method of application of same for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force during installation of wire or cable

A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.

VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVER AND LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

The present invention aims to provide a viscosity-index improving agent having an excellent friction reduction effect to reduce friction of a lubricating oil composition when the viscosity-index improving agent is added thereto. The present also aims to provide a lubricating oil composition containing the viscosity-index improving agent. The present invention relates to, for example, a viscosity-index improving agent containing: (co)polymer (A) containing, as an essential constituent monomer, a polyolefin-based monomer (a) represented by the following formula (1); an ester oil (B1) having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 1.00 to 2.50 mm.sup.2/s; and an ester oil (B2) having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 2.51 to 5.00 mm.sup.2/s:

VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVING AGENT AND LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

The present invention aims to provide a viscosity-index improving agent capable of providing a lubricating oil composition having an appropriate gelation index, an excellent HTHS viscosity at 100° C., and an excellent kinematic viscosity at 40° C. when the viscosity-index improving agent is added thereto. The present also aims to provide a lubricating oil composition containing the viscosity-index improving agent.
