Cooling garments, warming garments, and related methods
11596570 · 2023-03-07 · ·

The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.

Positioning apparatus and gripping apparatus

A gripping apparatus includes: a temperature adjusting device held in a substrate wherein the substrate defines an open region; a phase change material held within the open region and thermally coupled with the temperature adjusting device such that a temperature change in the temperature adjusting device causes a temperature change in the phase change material; and a controller connected to the temperature adjusting device and configured to send a signal to the temperature adjusting device to change its temperature and thereby change the temperature of the phase change material that is thermally coupled with the temperature adjusting device. The phase change material is either in a solid state and configured to grip a stick or in a liquid state and the phase change material and configured to loosen its grip on the stick such that the stick is capable of moving through the phase change material.

Data preparation for artificial intelligence-based cardiac arrhythmia detection

Techniques are disclosed for preparing data for use in artificial intelligence (AI)-based cardiac arrhythmia detection. In accordance with the techniques of this disclosure, a computing system may obtain a cardiac electrogram (EGM) strip that represents a waveform of a cardiac rhythm of a same patient. Additionally, the computing system may preprocess the cardiac EGM strip. The computing system may then apply a deep learning model to the preprocessed cardiac EGM strip to generate arrhythmia data indicating whether the cardiac EGM strip represents one or more occurrences of one or more cardiac arrhythmias.

Secure Pairing of Devices Via Pairing Facilitator-Intermediary Device
20230118508 · 2023-04-20 ·

The present inventions, in one aspect, are directed to systems and circuitry for and/or methods of establishing communication having one or more pairing facilitator-intermediary devices (for example, a network connected server) to enable or facilitate pairing and/or registering at least two devices (e.g., (i) a portable biometric monitoring device and (ii) a smartphone, laptop and/or tablet) to, for example, recognize, interact and/or enable interoperability between such devices. The pairing facilitator-intermediary device may responsively communicates information to one or more of the devices (to be paired or registered) which, in response, enable or facilitate such devices to pair or register. The present inventions may be advantageous where one or both of the devices to be paired or registered is/are not configured (e.g., include a user interface or certain communication circuitry that is configured or includes functionality) to pair devices without use of a facilitator-intermediary device.

Recommendation management for an electronic device

A method, system, apparatus, and/or device that may include: a first sensor operable to take a first physiological measurement; a second sensor operable to take a second physiological measurement; and a processing device operatively coupled to the first sensor and the second sensor. The processing device may be operable to: receive a first measurement data for the first physiological measurement; receive a second measurement data for the second physiological measurement; generate an event data set based on the first measurement data with the second measurement data; determine an event occurred based on the event data set; determine a type of the event; and in response to the event being a safety event: determine a type of the safety event; identify a risk level of the safety event; and in response to the risk level exceeding a threshold level, notify a second device of the safety event.

Data Processing System with Machine Learning Engine to Provide Output Generation Functions

Methods, computer-readable media, systems, and/or apparatuses for providing offer and insight generation functions are provided. For instance, user input may be received requesting generation of an offer. In response to receiving the request, an application may be transmitted to a device, such as a mobile device of a user. In some examples, the application may be executed by the device and may facilitate establishing a communication session with a third party system, identifying and extracting data from the third party system, and transmitting the extracted data to an entity for evaluation. In some examples, evaluation by the entity may include generating one or more insights, outputs and the like. In some arrangements, the evaluation may be performed using machine learning and, in some examples, may be performed in real-time or near real-time.

Introduced are methods and systems for an adjustable bed device configured to: gather biological signals associated with multiple users, such as heart rate, breathing rate, or temperature; analyze the gathered human biological signals; and heat or cool a bed based on the analysis.

AUTOMATION FOR IMPROVED SLEEP QUALITY

Historical sleep metrics are accessed. Historical sensor data is accessed. Incidences of low quality sleep experienced by the user are identified. Particular environmental conditions that affected the user during the incidences of low quality sleep are identified. A corrective plan that specifies a change to an environmental control system to reduce the particular environmental conditions is created. The behavior of the environmental control system is modified such that the environmental control system reduces the particular environmental conditions when the user sleeps in the bed.
