Tractor hydraulic fluid compositions
Lubricating oil compositions comprising neutral or low overbased alkaryl sulfonate calcium salts, hydrocarbyl polyalcohol, and zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate for use as tractor hydraulic fluids.
Lubricating composition containing an antiwear agent
The invention provides a lubricating composition containing an oil of lubricating viscosity and a nitrile compound. The invention further relates to a method of the lubricating an internal combustion engine with the lubricating composition.
Composition and method of manufacturing calcium sulfonate greases using alkali metal hydroxide and delayed addition of non-aqueous converting agents
An overbased calcium sulfonate grease composition and method of manufacture comprising added alkali metal hydroxide alone or in combination with (a) calcium hydroxyapatite and/or added calcium carbonate used as calcium containing bases for reacting with complexing acids) and/or (b) at least one delay period between the addition of water as a converting agent and addition of a portion of a non-aqueous converting agent. A delay period may involve the period of time it takes to adjust the temperature of the mixture, a period of time during which the mixture is held at a temperature or within a range of temperatures, and multiples and any combination thereof. These calcium sulfonate greases have improved thickener yield and high dropping points compared to greases made without added alkali metal hydroxide and delay between the additions of water and a non-aqueous converting agent, particularly when a poor quality overbased calcium sulfonate is used.

LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS FOR DIRECT INJECTION ENGINE
The invention is directed to a method for reducing low speed pre-ignition events in a spark-ignited direct injection internal combustion engine by supplying to the sump a lubricant composition which contains an oil of lubricating viscosity and a boron-containing ashless dispersant. The ashless dispersant may be selected from succinimide compounds prepared from aliphatic or aromatic amines.
MARINE DIESEL CYLINDER LUBRICANT OIL COMPOSITIONS
A marine diesel cylinder lubricating oil composition includes a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity. The lubricating oil composition further includes a non-sulfur containing aromatic amine. The marine diesel cylinder lubricating oil composition has a total base number (TBN) of about 5 to about 100 mg KOH/g. Furthermore, the contribution of the non-sulfur containing aromatic amine to the TBN of the marine diesel cylinder lubricant oil composition is greater than about 30%.

The disclosed technology provides a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.2 wt % to 10 wt % of a salt of a hydroxyl functional aromatic compound. The disclosed technology further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device with the lubricant composition.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN OXYALKYLATED AROMATIC POLYOL COMPOUND
The disclosed technology provides a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % of an oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound, wherein the aromatic compound has at least one alkoxy group represented by OR.sup.1 group, R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl, or a (poly)ether group, and either: at least one hydroxyl group, or at least one alkoxy group represented by OR.sup.1 group, where R.sup.1 is alkyl, or a (poly)ether group, or at least one oxyalkyl group represented by OR.sup.1, where R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl or a (poly)ether group. The disclosed technology further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device (such as an internal combustion engine) with the lubricating composition. The disclosed technology further relates to the use of the oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound in the lubricating composition to a passenger car internal combustion engine at least one of (i) control of fuel economy, (ii) control of corrosion, (iii) cleanliness, and (iv) control of bore wear.
