Solid surfactant composition

A surfactant product is in the form of a solid. The surfactant product includes (i) sodium carbonate; (ii) cream of tartar; (iii) glycerine; (iv) sodium lauryl sulphate in an amount of from 3 to 15 wt % based on the weight of the total composition, and (v) sodium laureth sulphate in an amount of from 10 to 25 wt % based on the weight of the total composition.

It further relates to a product comprising said solid composition and a porous solid support, wherein said solid composition is attached to said porous solid support. It further relates to a method for the controlled release of one or more actives in an automatic washing operation by providing said solid composition or any of the products to the machine in which said automatic washing operation is performed.

Amides of an aliphatic polyamine with two or three molecules of 12-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid, wherein the polyamine comprises at least one primary amino group for each molecule of 12-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid and additionally at least one secondary and/or tertiary amino group, can be used in a lipase stable thickener composition comprising from 50 to 95% by weight of one or more of the amides, from 5 to 50% by weight of one or more diluents and from 0 to 10% by weight water, and such thickener compositions can be prepared by a step of heating a starting mixture comprising hydrogenated castor oil and one or more aliphatic polyamines and adding one or more diluents before or after the heating step.

The surfactant is a mixture of an anionic surfactant and a non-ionic surfactant; the anionic surfactant is a mixture of sodium coco-sulfate and sodium alpha-olefin sulfonate; and the non-ionic surfactant is a mixture of alkyl glycoside, fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, isomeric alcohol polyoxyethylene ether and fatty acid methyl ester ethoxy compound.
