USE OF BRANCHED POLYESTERS BASED ON CITRIC ACID AS ADDITIVE IN WASHING COMPOSITIONS, CLEANERS, DETERGENTS OR A FORMULATION FOR WATER TREATMENT
The present invention relates to the use of branched polyesters obtainable by polycondensation of citric acid with at least one polyalcohol, and optionally with polycarboxylic acid component as additive in washing compositions, cleaners, detergents or a formulation for water treatment and to mixtures comprising such branched polyesters. The invention further relates to the use of hydrophobically modified branched polyesters; and to the method for cleaning, washing or water treatment using such branched polyesters.
Laundry detergents containing soil release polymers
The invention relates to liquid laundry detergent compositions comprising a) one or more polyesters comprising one or more of the repeating structural unit (a1) and one or more of the repeating structural unit (a2) ##STR00001## wherein G.sup.1 is one or more of (C.sub.nH.sub.2nO) with n being a number of from 2 to 10, R.sup.1 is H or COR.sup.2, R.sup.2 is X(C.sub.3H.sub.6O).sub.p(C.sub.2H.sub.4O).sub.qY wherein X is NH or O, Y is a C.sub.1-30 alkyl, the (C.sub.3H.sub.6O) and (C.sub.2H.sub.4O)-groups may be arranged blockwise, alternating, periodically and/or statistically and wherein the connections of the groups (C.sub.3H.sub.6O) and (C.sub.2H.sub.4O) to X and Y are free to vary, or O-G.sup.1-H, p is based on a molar average, a number of from 0 to 60, q is based on a molar average, a number of from 1 to 300,
and b) one or more surfactants. The one or more polyesters of component a) possess advantageous stability in alkaline environments, possess beneficial solubility and advantageously are clearly soluble in alkaline compositions such as liquid laundry detergent compositions and also possess advantageous soil release and soil removal properties on fatty and oily stains.
POLYESTER POLYQUATS IN CLEANING APPLICATIONS
The present disclosure relates to a method of cleaning a surface to be cleaned, wherein said surface is selected from a household item or a vehicle, said method comprising contacting said surface with an aqueous solution comprising a polyester polyquaternary (PEPQ) compound. Formulations useful for this purpose are also disclosed.
Soil release polyesters for use in detergent compositions
The invention relates to a polyester including two or more of the structural units (a1), one or more of the structural units (a2) and either one or two of the terminal groups (a3) ##STR00001## wherein G.sup.1 is (OC.sub.2H.sub.4), (OC.sub.3H.sub.6), or a mixture of these, R.sup.1 is methyl, p is, based on a molar average, a number of at least 60 to 130, q is 0. Adjacent structural units (a1) are connected by the structural unit (a2). When only one terminal group (a3) is present in the polyester, the other terminal group is selected from the group consisting of OH, OCH.sub.3, and G.sup.1OH. Both terminal groups are linked to acyl groups derived from a dicarboxylic acid.
System for removal of lime scale
Disclosed is a system for removal of limescale from a surface, which provides a sheet infused with a descaling agent and a binding agent comprising a polyacrylate salt, wherein the polyacrylate salt causes the sheet to bind to a surface to effectuate removal of the limescale. In embodiments, the sheet may bind to a vertical surface for treatment of limescale.
Automatic dishwashing detergent composition
An automatic dishwashing detergent composition having a pH as measured in 1% weight aqueous solution at 25 C. of from about 5 to about 7.5, the composition including an esterified alkyl alkoxylated surfactant of general formula (I) ##STR00001## wherein R is a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having 8 to 16 carbon atoms; R.sup.3, R.sup.1 independently of one another, are hydrogen or a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having 1 to 5 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is an unbranched alkyl radical having 5 to 17 carbon atoms; 1, n independently of one another, are a number from 1 to 5 and m is a number from 13 to 35.
