Microcapsules encapsulating oily core materials have a shell material of hybrid polyurea and poly(beta-amino esters) (PU/PBAE). The microcapsules may have a single shell of hybrid PU/PBAE, dual shells including hybrid PU/PBAE in an inner shell and PBAE in an outer shell crosslinked and deposited to the inner shell, or multiple shells including PU in an inner shell, hybrid PU/PBAE in a transitioning shell, and PBAE in an outer shell. Formation of the microcapsules includes polymerization between multifunctional amine and multifunctional acrylate to produce a water soluble PBAE; polymerization between polyisocyanate in oil phase and multifunctional amine in aqueous solution to produce PU microcapsule, polymerization between polyisocyanate and the amine moiety of PBAE prepolymer to produce hybrid PU/PBAE microcapsule wall; and polymerization between multifunctional acrylate and primary or secondary amine moiety of the PBAE prepolymer to form a PBAE outer shell.

PROCESS FOR PREPARING MICROCAPSULES

The present invention relates to a new process for the preparation of core-shell microcapsules. Microcapsules are also an object of the invention. Consumer products comprising said microcapsules, in particular perfumed consumer products or flavoured consumer products are also part of the invention.

Cleaning material

The invention provides a cleaning formulation comprising a multiplicity of solid cleaning particles, wherein the solid cleaning particles comprise polymeric particles and at least one cleaning agent, wherein the at least one cleaning agent is immobilised on the surface of the polymeric particles. Typically the at least one cleaning agent is immobilised on the surface of the polymeric particles by means of chemical bonds, typically ionic bonds, hydrogen bonds, covalent bonds, polar bonds, or bonds formed by virtue of unequal charge distributions between polymeric particles and immobilised materials. The invention also provides a method for the cleaning of a substrate, the method comprising the treatment of the substrate with a formulation according to the invention, and a method for the preparation of the cleaning formulation of the invention which comprises treating a multiplicity of polymeric particles with at least one cleaning agent.

Disclosed is a composition including controlled release particles, wherein each of the controlled release particles includes: (a) a core including at least one hydrophobic active ingredient; and (b) a wall at least partially surrounding the core and including: (i) an outer layer including a copolymer of polyacrylamide and polyacrylate; (ii) an intermediate layer under the outer layer and including a polyurea; (iii) an inner layer under the intermediate layer and including an acrylate copolymer; and optionally (iv) an optional outer layer above the outer layer and including a quaternary amine containing moiety, wherein the inner layer is a mesh and the controlled release particles are effective to retain the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient upon exposure to water and effective to release the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient in response to friction. A method for preparing the composition is also disclosed.
