HEAVY DUTY LAUNDRY DETERGENT
20170313958 · 2017-11-02 ·

A laundry detergent formulation is provided that is formed as an aqueous blend of surfactants, enzymes, builders, and soil release polymers to inhibit soil re-deposition back onto other clothing or elements of the washing machine. The detergent formulation also contains additives with properties that impart a treatment to fabrics that inhibits future soil deposition onto the clothing with continued use. The detergent formulation provides cleaning of heavy duty grease and automotive soils from clothing surfaces that is superior to current detergent products.

HIGH ALKALINE CLEANERS, CLEANING SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE FOR CLEANING ZERO TRANS FAT SOILS
20170306266 · 2017-10-26 ·

The present disclosure relates to high alkaline cleaners, cleaning systems and methods for removing polymerized zero trans fat soils. The high alkaline cleaner of the present invention generally includes one or more alkaline wetting and saponifying agent(s), a chelating/sequestering system and a surface modifying-threshold agent system. In various embodiments, the cleaners may include, at least one cleaning agent comprising a surfactant or surfactant system and/or a solvent or solvent system and/or a cleaning booster such as a peroxide or sulfite type additive. The cleaners may also include one or more components to modify the composition form and/or the application method in some embodiments. All components described above may also be optimized optionally, to provide emulsification of a composition (both as a usable product or a concentrate that can be diluted to form a usable product). The use of the high alkaline cleaner of the present invention has demonstrated enhanced cleaning characteristics especially at higher temperatures (100° F. to about 300° F.) but also shows enhanced cleaning at ambient temperatures.

Detergent composition comprising a polymer that performs both a cleaning and rinsing function

Industrial 2-in-1 cleaning compositions providing both detergency and rinseability in a single cleaning composition comprising a polymer are disclosed. Alkali metal carbonate-based cleaning compositions and methods of both making and using the same provide user-friendly, solid, detergent compositions without the need for using a separate rinse aid composition. The compositions and methods are particularly well suited for use in industrial cleaning using alkali metal carbonate compositions that beneficially provide cleaning and rinseability in the rinse cycle.

PROCESS FOR USING SWELLABLE and COLLAPSIBLE LIPOPHILIC SUPER-ABSORBENT POLYMER GELS TO CLEAN SURFACES

Lipophilic super-absorbent swelling gels have been developed that will not only absorb the oil and grease from these machine parts, but will also act as an automated sweeper due to the self-generating mechanical force of the gel. An octadecylacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (ODA-co-EGDMA) tetraalkylammonium tetraphenylborate lipophilic polyelectrolyte gel (EG-18) and poly(stearylacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (SA-co-EGDMA) neutral gel (NG-18) were evaluated for swelling and oil sorption capacity. NG-18 and EG-18 gels removed particulate contaminants and absorbed oils and grease on metal and non-metal surfaces without causing abrasion. The gels are also recyclable. The cleaning ability of the gels was compared with the standard solvent cleaner trichloroethylene (TCE) following ASTM G122-96(2008) test methods and MIL-PRF-680B procedure with MIL-PRF-10924 test grease. Polymer gel cleaners exhibited analogous extent and rate of cleaning as the TCE. These recyclable superabsorbent polymer cleaners will allow drastic reduction in the use of VOC containing solvents and HAP release.
