The present invention relates to a method of making a solid cleaning composition. The method can include pressing and/or vibrating a flowable solid of a self-solidifying cleaning composition. For a self-solidifying cleaning composition, pressing and/or vibrating a flowable solid determines the shape and density of the solid but is not required for forming a solid. The method can employ a concrete block machine for pressing and/or vibrating. The present invention also relates to a solid cleaning composition made by the method and to solid cleaning compositions including particles bound together by a binding agent.
Solid laundry softener composition
Solid laundry softening compositions and applications of use are disclosed. Solid laundry softening compositions combine quaternary ammonium compounds with an inorganic carrier to provide a flowable powder for solidification in a pressed or extruded solid composition. A high loading of quaternary ammonium compound in the inorganic carrier, including an inorganic salt, can be further combined with softening boosters, processing aids, surfactants, and/or additional functional ingredients to provide stable solid compositions.

A laundry detergent formulation is provided including a detergent component; optionally, a crosslinked cellulose ether; and a drainage aid component, wherein the drainage aid component comprises: 40-99 wt % of an organopolysiloxane comprising: 0-60 mol % units of formula I
R.sub.x.sup.1SiO.sub.(4-x)/2(I) 40-100 mol % units of formula II
R.sub.y.sup.1R.sub.z.sup.2SiO.sub.(4-y-z)/2(II) wherein x is 0-3; y is 0-2; and z is 1-2; y+z is 1-3; R.sup.1 is a hydrogen, hydroxy or group having 1-8 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is an -A.sub.cR.sup.3 group; A is a divalent linking group; c is 0-1; R.sup.3 is a group having 9-35 carbon atoms; 1-30 wt % of an organosilicon resin; 0-30 wt % of a hydrophobic additive; with proviso that when the laundry detergent formulation contains 0.02 wt % of the drainage aid component, the laundry detergent formulation will also contain at least 0.1 wt % of the crosslinked cellulose ether containing 0.1-0.6 wt % of polyether groups.
