The server associates the user profile with relevant product or service recommendations, based on previous purchases by a user or by others matching the user profile. The user may make a purchase based on the displayed recommendations or forward the recommendations to others. The recommendations include discounts based on the user profile. Subsequent sensor data showing satisfaction with a purchased item serves as a testimonial to user satisfaction with the item. The sensor data may be collected from a user in an augmented or virtual reality system, and the recommendations may be displayed in such a system.

The activity mode of operation may be manually activated by the user or may be activated automatically by the controller. The controller may automatically activate the activity mode of operation based on a detected activity level of the user and/or a detected location of the user.

Circuitry may be coupled to strands of material in the stretchable band. The circuitry may include sensor circuitry for making measurements on the body part such as electrocardiogram measurements, blood pressure measurements, and respiration rate measurements. Wireless communications circuitry in the fabric-based item may be used to communicate wirelessly with external electronic equipment. A wireless power transmitting device may transmit wireless power. A coil formed from conductive strands in the fabric-based item may be used by wireless power receiving circuitry in the fabric-based item to receive the wireless power. The coil may have one or more turns that run around the ring-shaped strip of stretchable fabric.

The controller can also modify pacing characteristics based on variables including a signal received from the second sensor.

A heat monitoring system for carrying out the method of estimating a value associated with heart wall tension comprises a sensor configured to be placed in communication with the heart in order to identify motion in the heart; and a data processing device arranged to receive motion data from the sensor and to then carry out the steps of the method.
