Methods and system for multi-channel bio-optical sensing
A sensor, such as a photoplethysmography sensor, for non-invasively monitoring a characteristic of an organism, such as a vital body sign. The sensor has multiple light sources disposed on a substrate and an array of optical probing channels for conveying light from the light sources to a probed region. Each detector pixel of an array of detector pixels receives light from a respective optical detection channel after interaction with a subregion of the probed region and spatial filtering, and generates a corresponding pixel signal. A processor derives a value of the vital body sign based at least upon the plurality of pixel signals

SMART MAT
A key input device applicable to a smart mat is provided, where the key input device includes a first layer in which a plurality of row contacts are formed, a second layer in which a plurality of column contacts are formed, an insulating layer disposed between the first and second layers to form an insulating region and a current carrying region, and a processor configured to detect that at least one of a plurality of key switches formed by the plurality of row contacts and the plurality of column contacts is pressed.
TRANSDUCER ARRAY HAVING A VARIABLE RESISTANCE CONDUCTIVE GEL LAYER
A transducer array including a conductive layer and a conductive gel layer is described. The conductive layer has one or more electrode element. The one or more electrode element is configured to receive electrical signals from an electric field generator producing an electric signal as a Tumor Treating Field. The conductive gel layer overlaps the one or more electrode element of the conductive layer. The conductive gel layer has a first region and a second region. The first region has a first resistivity and the second region having a second resistivity with the first resistivity being different from the second resistivity.
Surgical instrument for tissue identification
A method for identifying and treating tissue includes providing an electrosurgical treatment device including an electrode assembly. One or more electrical property values of target tissue are measured. The measured electrical property values of the target tissue are compared against electrical property values of known tissue types. A tissue type of the target tissue is identified. An energy delivery configuration of the electrosurgical treatment device is adjusted to the type of target tissue. The electrosurgical treatment device is activated to treat the target tissue.
ANALYTE AND ENVIRONMENT SENSORS
Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for in vivo monitoring of localized environment conditions within a patient user by measuring analytes, including glucose, oxygen, and/or other analytes. In some aspects, a sensor device includes a wafer-based substrate, at least one electrochemical sensor two-electrode contingent including a working electrode and a reference electrode on the substrate and configured to detect a target analyte in a body fluid when the sensor device is deployed within a subject's body, where the working electrode is functionalized by a chemical layer configured to facilitate a reaction involving the target analyte that produces an electrical signal; and an electronics unit in communication with the electrochemical sensor electrode contingent to transmit the electrical signal to an external processor.
Method and apparatus for detecting biomechanical and functional parameters of the knee
Method for detecting biomechanical and functional parameters of the knee in a situation of performance stress, which comprises: a step for the set up of video recording means (1); a step for the set up of multiple optical markers (4) at specific landmark anatomic points (PA) of the foot and of the knee of a person; a step for the set up, at the plantar surface of the foot, of baropodometric means (5); a step for the acquisition, by means of the video recording means (1), of images of at least one reference action, and a step for the detection, by means of the baropodometric means (5), of baropodometric parameters; a step for calculating, from the baropodometric parameters, the coordinates of the center of pressure (COP) of the foot and of the constraining reaction force (FV) acting on the foot; a step for calculating a force arm (BF) given by the distance between the center of pressure (COP) and a reference point (PR) of the knee; a step for calculating a biomechanical parameter indicative of the valgus moment, derived from the vector product (PV) of the force arm (BF) and the constraining reaction force (FV).
Methods and systems for identifying the crossing of a virtual barrier
Systems, methods and media are disclosed for identifying the crossing of a virtual barrier. A person in a 3D image of a room may be circumscribed by a bounding box. The position of the bounding box may be monitored over time, relative to the virtual barrier. If the bounding box touches or crosses the virtual barrier, an alert may be sent to the person being monitored, a caregiver or a clinician. Bounding box tracking may be used in addition to or instead of an initial tracking process, such as skeletal tracking.
