Non-Invasive Blood Flow Measurement
20170281023 · 2017-10-05 ·

A system for determining blood flow to and from the brain of a patient includes a plurality of magnetic elements configured to be positioned adjacent to the neck of the patient and apply at least one magnetic field to the neck of the patient. The system includes a plurality of electrodes configured to be in electrical contact with the neck of the patient, the electrodes configured to detect a voltage induced across the neck of the patient responsive to the applied magnetic field and blood flow through the neck of the patient. The system includes a support component for holding the plurality of magnetic elements and the plurality of electrodes at the neck of the patient.

MULTIMODAL BRAIN SENSING LEAD
20170238832 · 2017-08-24 ·

A medical lead with at least a distal portion thereof implantable in the brain of a patient is described, together with methods and systems for using the lead. The lead is provided with at least two sensing modalities (e.g., two or more sensing modalities for measurements of field potential measurements, neuronal single unit activity, neuronal multi unit activity, optical blood volume, optical blood oxygenation, voltammetry and rheoencephalography). Acquisition of measurements and the lead components and other components for accomplishing a measurement in each modality are also described as are various applications for the multimodal brain sensing lead.

PATIENT SCREENING AND ECG BELT FOR BRADY THERAPY TUNING

Cardiac electrical activity is monitored from tissue of the patient using the plurality of external electrodes. One or more cardiac metrics of the patient are generated based on the monitored electrical activity. It is determined whether the patient is a candidate for a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device based on a first global dyssynchrony metric using the one or more cardiac metrics if the patient has a right bundle branch block. It is determined whether the patient is a candidate for a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device based on a second global dyssynchrony metric using the one or more cardiac metrics if the patient does not have a right bundle branch block.

STABLE CARDIAC SIGNAL IDENTIFICATION
20220031222 · 2022-02-03 ·

Systems and methods are described herein for determining whether or not each of a plurality of cardiac signals monitored from a plurality of electrodes is stable. A dispersion signal may be generated based on the plurality of cardiac signals, and low dispersion time period may be selected within which the cardiac signals may be analyzed for stability.

Miniaturized sensing probe and manufacturing method thereof

A miniaturized sensing probe and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The miniaturized sensing probe includes: a probe substrate including a probe part and a circuit connection part; a sensor disposed on the probe part and electrically connected to the circuit connection part; and a needle unit used to accommodate the probe part of the probe substrate; wherein the sensor performs sensing when placed into an analyte through the needle unit and transmits a sensing signal through the circuit connection part. The miniaturized sensing probe of the present invention may be easily placed into the analyte without the use of other instrument or surgery. This means is of benefit to a clinician performing an early diagnosis on a patient with a peripheral vascular disease or monitoring the biological value of the muscle during surgery in real time.

Coated Biosensor and Method for Preserving Biosensor During Implantation into the Brain or Other Tissues
20170258404 · 2017-09-14 · ·

Provided herein is a coated biosensor and a method of preserving a coated biosensor to protect it during implantation into the brain or other tissues by coating the biosensor with a protective coating.

Biological information acquisition device and biological information acquisition method

A technique for realizing energy saving. According to a biological information acquisition device, light emitting power per unit area of one light emitting element emitting light when first biological information is acquired is weaker than light emitting power per unit area of one light emitting element emitting light when second biological information is acquired.

CONSCIOUSNESS LEVEL DETERMINATION METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
20210369193 · 2021-12-02 · ·

A step of extracting components of one or more frequency bands from a first section of an EEG; a step of calculating a first index for each of the components of one or more frequency bands, wherein the first index is calculated based on a degree to which a magnitude of each of the components of one or more frequency bands with respect to a magnitude of a predetermined reference component in the first section exceeds a predetermined threshold value; a step of calculating a probability value for each of one or more patient statuses from the first index for each of the components of one or more frequency bands using a trained artificial neural network; and a step of determining the consciousness level of the patient based on the probability value for each of the one or more calculated patient statuses.
