STRETCHABLE ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG) APPARATUSES
In certain examples, methods and structures are directed to an apparatus having a plurality of stretchable leads, with each of the plurality of stretchable leads including an associated electrode which is to receive electrical signals generated in response to a subject-s heart and to pass the received electrical signals along a respective one of plurality of stretchable leads. The apparatus also includes a patch integrating the stretchable substrate with the plurality of stretchable leads and with the patch having an area for circuitry to reside for collecting the electrical signals passed along each of the plurality of stretchable leads, wherein each of the plurality of stretchable leads is to be on a subject side of the patch. In more particular examples, the circuitry is used to provide a multi-lead ECG based on the electrical signals.
FAULT DETECTION FOR MICRONEEDLE ARRAY BASED CONTINUOUS ANALYTE MONITORING DEVICE
Fault detection and diagnostics for a microneedle array based continuous analyte monitoring device are provided. The electrochemical sensors, including the electrodes of the analyte monitoring device configured for measuring one or more target analytes, may experience various faults during use of the analyte monitoring device. By modeling the sensors as an electrical network, measurements of the electrical network may be correlated with operational parameters of the sensor. The voltage at the counter electrode provides an indication of the resistance or impedance between the working electrode and the counter electrode and is used to identify the occurrence of faults occurring at the continuous analyte monitoring device.
Early detection of neurodegenerative disease
Embodiments of the present systems and methods may provide a non-invasive system to measure and integrate behavioral and cognitive features enabling early detection and progression tracking of degenerative disease. For example, a method of detecting neurodegenerative disease may comprise measuring functioning of at least one of the motor system, cognitive function, and brain activity of a subject during everyday life and analyzing the gathered at least one motor system data, cognitive function data, and brain activity data of the subject.
Diaphragm-based sensor with a corrugated sidewall
A diaphragm-based sensor includes a deflectable diaphragm, a base layer opposite the diaphragm, and a corrugated wall extending between the diaphragm and the base layer. The diaphragm is suspended over a cavity enclosed by the diaphragm, the base layer and the corrugated wall. The diaphragm includes a first electrode and the base layer includes a second electrode such that a capacitance between the first and second electrodes changes when the diaphragm is deflected relative to the cavity.
MICRO-PILLAR WORKING ELECTRODES DESIGN TO REDUCE BACKFLOW OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN GLUCOSE SENSOR
An electrochemical sensor including a working electrode having an arrangement of pillars defining channels between the pillars. The channels increase confinement of a byproduct produced in an electrochemical reaction used during sensing of an analyte, so as to increase interaction of the byproduct with the working electrode. A number of working embodiments of the invention are shown to be useful in amperometric glucose sensors worn by diabetic individuals.
DRY ELECTRODE FOR BIOMETRIC MEASUREMENT ON A SKIN AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A dry electrode for biometric measurement on a skin and a method for manufacturing are disclosed. The dry electrode has a substrate forming the scaffold of the dry electrode. The substrate has metal or semiconductor material; an electrically conductive film on a first surface of the substrate; and an attaching element for attaching the dry electrode. The electrically conductive film is directly deposited on the first surface of the substrate. The electrically conductive film is a graphene film.
WEARABLE BAND FOR BIOMARKER TRACKING
Disclosed herein are wearable bands for biomarker tracking and methods for making the wearable bands. The biomarker tracking wearable band having a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), the PCBA including an electrocardiography (ECG) sensor utilizing printed Silver-Silver Chloride (Ag-AgCl) electrodes and an optical photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor utilizing more than two light emitting diodes (LEDs), and a directly over molded band encasing the PCBA.
BIO-ELECTRODE COMPOSITION, BIO-ELECTRODE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BIO-ELECTRODE
A bio-electrode composition contains (A) a silicone bonded to an ionic polymer and having a structure containing a T unit shown by the following general formula (T1): (R.sup.0SiO.sub.3/2) (T1), the structure excluding a cage-like structure. In the formula, R.sup.0 represents a linking group to the ionic polymer. The ionic polymer is a polymer containing a repeating unit having a structure selected from the group consisting of salts of ammonium, lithium, sodium, potassium, and silver formed with any of fluorosulfonic acid, fluorosulfonimide, and N-carbonyl-fluorosulfonamide. Thus, the present invention provides a bio-electrode composition capable of forming a living body contact layer for a bio-electrode which is excellent in electric conductivity, biocompatibility, stretchability, and adhesion, soft, light-weight, and manufacturable at low cost, and which prevents significant reduction in the electric conductivity even when wetted with water or dried.
Glucose sensor electrode design
A single flex double-sided electrode useful in a continuous glucose monitoring sensor. In one example, a counter electrode is placed on the back-side of the flex and a work electrode is placed on the top-side of the sensor flex. The electrode is fabricated on physical vapor deposited metal deposited on a base substrate. Adhesion of the electrode to the base substrate is carefully controlled so that the electrode can be processed on the substrate and subsequently removed from the substrate after processing.
