Fluid may flow from the reservoir and ultimately into the tip to provide oral irrigation and/or cleaning of the teeth, gums, and tongue. The base may include a plurality of footings that elevate the base unit above a surface supporting the base unit. Also, the base may include a basin for receiving a reservoir. The basin may include a reservoir valve initially biased to a closed position and operationally attached to the reservoir, and a tube projection connected to the base unit and opening the valve when the reservoir is received within the basin. The basin and the reservoir are configured to guide the reservoir valve adjacent to the tube projection.
PROCESS WATER SUPPLY UNIT FOR SUPPLYING A MEDICAL TREATMENT UNIT, DENTAL MEDICAL TREATMENT UNIT AND OPERATING METHOD

Powder jet device for dispensing dental material
A powder jet device (10) for dispensing a dental material comprises a nozzle head (12) comprising a discharge nozzle. The powder jet device (10) further comprises a housing (14) comprising a valve portion (28), which is connected to the nozzle head (12) and is adapted to receive a valve member (16), and a chamber portion (30) comprising at least a first chamber (32) for storing a powder material. The chamber portion (30) comprises a proximal end (34) located adjacent the valve portion (28), a distal end (36) located away from the valve portion (28) and a fluid channel (38) extending from the distal end (36) substantially to the proximal end (34) into the chamber. The powder jet device (10) further comprises a valve member (16) disposed within the valve portion (28). The valve member (16) comprises a fluid supply passage (54) and is movable between a first position, in which a first fluid path (64) for delivery of a fluid from the fluid supply passage (54) into the chamber via the fluid channel (38) so as to create a dispersion from the powder material and a second fluid path (66) for delivery of the dispersion to the discharge nozzle are open, and a second position, in which at least the first fluid path (64) is closed.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM TO IMPROVE ASEPSIS IN DENTAL APPARATUS
A method and system to improve asepsis during dental delivery includes a self-contained water delivery apparatus and a vacuum apparatus both of which provide disinfection of biohazards occurring during dental procedures. A UVC LED light emitting unit, with sanitary connections, may be releasably connected to the delivery and vacuum apparatus for improved maintenance and cleaning. A reservoir egress connector provides releasable engagement, fluid agitation, and unrestricted UV light transmission to improve water quality, reduce biofilm water contamination, reduce cross contamination, and reduce the potential spread of pathogens. The mounting system for the UVC LED light unit allows the apparatus to be used to decontaminate portable dental delivery units and vacuum units upon closure. A reflective interior of the cases improves irradiation of the enclosed system, reducing the risk and spread of pathogens.
Dental cutting lubricant and method of use thereof
The present invention provides a method for dental cutting including the steps of providing a dental unit water line irrigation system, the dental unit water line irrigation system including a container surrounding a solution chamber; providing a lubricant for use in the dental unit water line irrigation system, the lubricant defining a composition including 10 to 25% by weight of ethanol; 5 to 25% by weight of glycerol; 10 to 25% by weight of xylitol; 0.5 to 5% by weight of a nonionic surfactant and emulsifying agent; 0.15 to 0.5% by weight of a plurality of flavoring agents; and 45 to 60% by weight of water; and selectively operating the water line irrigation system to express the lubricant onto a dental cutting site.
BONE GRAFT INJECTION OSTEOTOME
A composition delivery source (300) includes a chamber (302), a solid-liquid composition delivery tube (314), a mixing tube (316), and a liquid-supply tube (318). A filter (304) divides the chamber (302) into a liquid compartment (306) and a solid-liquid composition compartment (308). The solid-liquid composition delivery tube (314) is in fluid communication with the solid-liquid composition compartment (308). The mixing tube (316) is in fluid communication with the liquid compartment (306) and the solid-liquid composition compartment (308). The liquid-supply tube (318) is in fluid communication with the liquid compartment (306) and a liquid solution container (366). A pump unit (301) is provided that includes a mixing pump (322), which is arranged to cause flow in the mixing tube (316); and a liquid-supply pump (324), which is arranged to cause flow in the liquid-supply tube (318). Other embodiments are also described.
Interdental laterally expansive wedge
An interdental laterally expansive wedge includes a prismatic wedge member having a furled bottom side expansible from a first position to an expanded position when fluid is forcibly directed into the wedge member through a proximal interconnect. Lateral expansion of the wedge member is thereby effected when each of a pair of basal ridges is forced apart to impress consistent and even pressure in contact with interproximal structure, such as approximal teeth and a matrix band inserted to gird a cavosurface for approximal filling preparation and finishing. Importantly, the present interdental laterally expansive wedge is laterally expansive without effecting deformation or ballooning between and around the teeth, and prevents invasion into the cavity proper.
Bone Graft Injection Osteotome
A method is provided that includes injecting, during a dental procedure, from a first side of a bone, through (a) exactly one bore that passes through the bone from the first side to a second side of the bone, and (b) into a cavity adjacent to the second side of the bone, a solid-liquid composition of solid particles and a physiological liquid solution. During the dental procedure, the physiological liquid solution is drained from the cavity and through the bore while inhibiting passage of the solid particles of the solid-liquid composition, such that the solid particles accumulate in the cavity. Injecting the solid-liquid composition includes pumping the solid-liquid composition at a pulsating positive hydraulic pressure.
