Universal piezo-magneto ultrasonic systems and methods
An ultrasonic unit manufacturing system and process are based on a universal ultrasonic generator unit that operates interchangeably with either one of piezoelectric and magnetostrictive ultrasonic devices, and optionally as well as with either on-off or power level control footswitches. The ultrasonic units use a generator unit having a detector that determines whether the connected device is piezoelectric or magnetostrictive, and activates the generator for the appropriate piezoelectric or magnetostrictive operating mode. The ultrasonic units so made and methods of using them are also disclosed.

A medical or dental, hand-held treatment instrument, comprising a single-part or multi-part outer sleeve, at least one controlling element having at least one capacitive sensor and a sensor surface provided on the outer sleeve and operatively connected to the capacitive sensor, wherein the controlling element generates an actuating signal when the sensor surface is touched or approached. The treatment instrument further comprises an indicating device, which is arranged on the treatment instrument and which indicates the sensor surface and/or the generation of an actuating signal due to a contact of the sensor surface or an approach to the sensor surface.

Apparatus for tooth stain removal
An apparatus for tooth stain removal is presented. The invention comprises a powered device with a chisel tip at its distal end, a body at its proximal end and an electric motor housed within the body for driving the chisel tip. The chisel tip has a proximal end removably coupled to the body and an exposed distal end along a generally longitudinal axis. The chisel tip comprises a pointed end on a first side for cleaning area between teeth and a broad cleaning surface on a second side for cleaning the main surface of each tooth. The chisel tip operates in a reciprocating motion driven by the electric motor. The reciprocating motion repeatedly moves the chisel tip in a back and forth direction by a finite displacement along the chisel tip's longitudinal axis.

The present invention relates to a primer composition that may be applied to tissue in order to increase bond strength between the tissue and a patch, filler or a supporting material. The primer comprises a dithiol component and an allyl containing component together with a photo initiator.

The invention relates to a dental tool having a shank region, which is formed for coupling to a dental handpiece, and also having a work region, which is connected to the shank region. In this case, the shank region of the dental tool is formed so that there is the possibility of latchable insertion and removal without actuation. In particular, at least the shank region can consist of plastics material. As a result, inter alia facilitated handling of the tool and inexpensive production of the tool are rendered possible.
