The present invention relates to a method of determining layer thicknesses (t) of a three-dimensional model (1) for generation with an additive manufacturing apparatus, the method comprising: a step of determining the layer thicknesses (t) according to an adaptive slicing algorithm in which the thickness of a layer (2) is calculated through a relation based on the inclination of the normal vectors (n) of the surface elements (s) of the 3D model (1) which at least partly enclose the layer (2) from a horizontal direction (x; y) the method being characterized by further comprising: a step of selectively imposing on at least one surface element (s) of the 3D model (1) a precision requirement out of one or more selectable different precision requirements which respectively differently alter in the determination step the relation with respect to the inclination of the normal vector (n) of the said at least one surface element (s) which allows, through the altered relation, the layer thickness (t) to obtain a value smaller or larger than the layer thickness (t) determined through the unaltered relation.

The preparation method comprises the following steps: a) bonding a radiation-blocking material onto an oral mucosa, and putting on an occlusal rim; b) carrying out CBCT photographing to acquire CBCT data carrying information of the radiation-blocking material; c) acquiring STL data of an oral cavity surface; d) matching the CBCT data with the STL data; e) loading occlusal rim data; f) carrying out intelligent tooth arrangement; and g) designing an implant, and generating a surgical guide plate. By means of the preparation method, the level of comfort of a patient can be increased, preparatory processes are reduced, a radiation guide plate does not need to be made, the number of return visits is reduced, the clinical medical cost is reduced, the precision of a surgical guide plate is increased, the software design time is reduced, and the treatment experience is improved.

A robotic system and method involve a fiducial marker engaged with a maxillofacial anatomy, and an end effector at a distal end of an articulating arm member. A controller device directly communicates with the fiducial marker, the articulating arm member, and the end effector, to determine an end effector disposition relative to the fiducial marker during end effector movement according to a virtual procedure plan for placing the dental element in aligned relation to the maxillofacial anatomy, and directs the articulating arm member to physically control allowable movement of the end effector, directly relative to the disposition of the end effector with respect to the fiducial marker and according to the virtual procedure plan, to place the dental element for securement to the maxillofacial anatomy.
