The surgical guide is a formed prosthesis with a contour to fit upon a patient's teeth. The formed prosthesis providing; at least one guide sleeve disposed in the formed prosthesis and structured and arranged to guide a surgical tool into a patient's jaw at a predetermined location, the guide sleeve defining a tool alignment pathway; at least one irrigant port structured and arranged to receive an irrigant line from a remote irrigant source and conduct the irrigant to a spout disposed proximate to each guide sleeve. A hydraulically activated valve may also be disposed within the spout. An associated method of use is also provided.

DENTAL TREATMENT SYSTEM

A dental treatment system can include a console, a tooth coupler, and an interface member that provides at least one of fluidic, electrical, mechanical, and data communication between the tooth coupler and the console. The tooth coupler (which may comprise a handpiece or a treatment cap) can act as a working end of the system to administer a suitable treatment procedure, such as a cleaning procedure, an obturation procedure, a restoration procedure, etc. The tooth coupler can removably engage the interface member such that the clinician can easily engage and disengage the tooth coupler and interface member.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PREVENTATIVE DENTAL HARD TISSUE TREATMENT WITH A LASER

This disclosure relates to various systems and methods related to preventative laser-based treatment of a dental tissue; for example, to prevent a patient from forming cavities. In some instances, a laser-based treatment system can generate a laser beam pulse with a fluence profile at a treatment site that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. In some instances, the laser-based treatment system can direct the laser beam to various locations within a treatment site according to a temporal and/or spatial pattern, that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. Many other systems and techniques for preventative and other laser-based treatment are also described.

Nozzle for powder delivery with a personal care appliance and method

A powder delivery nozzle (12) for a personal care appliance (10) comprises a body (28), guidance tip (38), powder chamber (50), and flexible membrane (56). The body (28) includes an air-liquid channel (30) for delivery of air and/or liquid from a proximal end to a distal end thereof. The guidance tip (38), located at the distal end of the body (28), includes an orifice (40) coupled to the air-liquid channel (30) and is configured to expel a pulse of air and/or liquid. The powder chamber (50) is configured for storing a powder (52) and having an air intake port (42) and a powder outlet port (44). The flexible membrane (56) is disposed between the powder chamber (50) and the air-liquid channel (30). Responsive to delivery of a pulse of air and/or liquid via the air-liquid channel (30), a pulse of pressure is applied to the flexible membrane (56) for actuating a release of powder expelled from the powder chamber (50) via the powder outlet port (44). A method and personal care appliance are also disclosed.

System for dispensing dental compositions

A dispensing system (10) configured to dispense a dental composition, the dispensing system including: (i) a dental tray (14) comprising a tray reservoir (18) configured to receive a dental composition (26), and further comprising a guide rail (22); (ii) a dental composition reservoir (12) for containing at least one dental composition; and (iii) a dispensing mechanism (16) in communication with the guide rail and configured to expel the dental composition from the dental composition reservoir in response to the dispensing mechanism moving along the guide rail, the dispensing mechanism comprising a nozzle (24) configured to direct the dispensed dental composition into the tray reservoir.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATING TEETH

Examples of apparatus, methods, and compositions for endodontic treatments are described. In certain implementations, the apparatus can include a treatment fluid supply configured to supply a treatment fluid to a treatment region of the tooth and a pressure wave generator configured to generate pressure waves in the treatment fluid. The pressure wave generator can include a volume housing an electromagnetically responsive material, a diaphragm including a first side and a second side, the first side exposed to the volume, the second side exposed to the treatment fluid, the diaphragm being movable such that movement of the electromagnetically responsive material within the volume causes movement of the diaphragm, and an electromagnetic generator coupled to the volume, the electromagnetic generator configured to generate electromagnetic energy. The electromagnetically responsive material can be responsive to the electromagnetic energy generated by the electromagnetic generator so as to cause the movement of the diaphragm.

A dispensing system (10) configured to dispense a dental composition, the dispensing system including : (i) a dental tray (14) comprising a tray reservoir (18) configured to receive a dental composition (26), and further comprising a guide rail (22); (ii) a dental composition reservoir (12) for containing at least one dental composition; and (iii) a dispensing mechanism (16) in communication with the guide rail and configured to expel the dental composition from the dental composition reservoir in response to the dispensing mechanism moving along the guide rail, the dispensing mechanism comprising a nozzle (24) configured to direct the dispensed dental composition into the tray reservoir.

Dental handpiece nozzle

A nozzle for a dental handpiece having a connector portion to be connected to a handpiece body, and a nozzle body, which is provided near its end with a notch of a substantially rectangular section cut out from the front face into the lateral faces, the notch forming upstream and downstream faces. The nozzle has a channel and an injection port thereof for transferring the mixture and a channel and an injection port thereof for transferring water, separate from each other. The channel for the mixture extends through the nozzle body along the front face from the connector portion to near the end, with the injection port for the mixture opened in the upstream face. With this nozzle, the mixture is properly injected onto a treatment site in subgingival treatment, while the mixture injected subgingivally is efficiently discharged supragingivally, to improve work efficiency in dental treatment.
