Fluid-driven medical or dental handheld device
A fluid-driven medical or dental handheld device includes a head, the head including a housing and a impeller rotatably mounted in the housing. The housing defines a receiving chamber for receiving the impeller, a main air inlet and an air outlet being defined in the housing and communicating with the receiving chamber. An inner surface of the housing surrounding the receiving chamber defines a plurality of grooves, the grooves being arranged at intervals along a circumferential direction of the housing. The grooves reflect rotating airflows directed to the grooves to change directions and speeds of the airflows to form interference airflows, which can effectively reduce the rotation speed of the head at idling, while ensuring the torque output of the head during grinding teeth.
Tooth Preparation System With Lateral Prongs For Limiting Three-Dimensional Movement
A tooth preparation system (100) includes a dental tool (150) and guide device (110) for contacting the dental tool to limit its movement in removing predetermined tooth structure from a working tooth. The guide device includes a body (120) having an inner surface (146A), a channel (122A, 122B), an aperture (124, 126, 136), and an opening (127A, 127B). The inner surface is configured for attachment to a tooth to releasably fix the guide device. The channel extends partially through the body, defines a longitudinal axis, is configured for contacting a flange (152A, 152B, 154A, 154B) extending from a shaft of the dental tool to limit a movement of the tool, and defines a channel diameter perpendicular to a direction the longitudinal axis extends. The aperture extends through the body and is configured to expose the predetermined tooth structure. The opening extends between the channel and the aperture and has an opening diameter less than the channel diameter.
Dental Handpiece
A dental handpiece includes a barrel, an air turbine, a central shaft, a bearing and a seal. The barrel includes an axial open end. The air turbine is rotatably provided in the barrel. The central shaft is secured to the air turbine to rotate with the air turbine. The bearing is mounted in the barrel and supports the central shaft for rotation. The seal is trumpet-shaped and arranged between the open end of the barrel and the bearing. The seal includes a sealing portion sleeved over an outer cylindrical surface of the central shaft. The sealing portion is deformable to separate from the outer cylindrical surface of the central shaft or closely contact the outer cylindrical surface of the central shaft depending on a pressure difference between interior and exterior of the barrel.
ENDODONTIC HANDPIECE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An endodontic handpiece comprises a handle assembly and an endodontic tool. The handle assembly comprises a handle housing, a chuck assembly, a bearing system for supporting the chuck assembly for rotation relative to the handle housing, a first drive system for rotating the chuck assembly, and first and second drive systems. The endodontic tool defines a support portion and a working portion. The chuck assembly transfers movement of the chuck assembly to the endodontic tool. The endodontic handpiece operates in at least one of first, second, and third modes in which the first drive system causes rotation of the endodontic tool through the chuck assembly, the second drive system causes vibration of the endodontic tool, and/or the first drive system causes rotation of the endodontic tool through the chuck assembly.
Dental hand piece and method for manufacturing dental hand piece
A dental hand piece has: a hand piece head provided at the front end section thereof; and a connection section provided at the rear end section thereof, and the dental hand piece is used by connecting the connection section to a dental unit. The dental hand piece is provided with: a plurality of metallic pipes for providing communication between the hand piece head and the connection section; and an elastic resin member mounted so as to cover a portion extending at least from the rear end section of the hand piece head to the front end section of the connection section. The outer peripheries of the metallic pipes are embedded within the elastic resin member so as to be in close contact with the inside thereof.

DENTAL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TOOL TO HANDPIECE COMMUNICATION
A device, apparatus and method for enabling communication between a tool and a handpiece through a contactless interface while reducing space requirements for communication antennas of the apparatus. The apparatus comprises a dental tool and a handpiece with a transponder attached to or integrated with the dental tool. The transponder comprises a memory region such as a microchip, which is connected to a transponder antenna. The handpiece also includes a reader which communicates with the transponder through a reader antenna. The antennas as constructed as layers on surfaces of one or more substrates save space.

ROBOTIC DEVICE FOR DENTAL SURGERY
A robotic system includes a base, a grounding arm, a working arm, and one or more sensors. The grounding arm extends from the base and is configured to be coupled to a fixed structure within the mouth of the patient for establishing an origin for the robotic system. The working arm extends from the base and is configured to be coupled with one or more tools for use during an installation of a dental implant in the mouth. The one or more sensors are for monitoring positions of the grounding arm and/or the working arm and to generate positional data that is used to create a post-operative virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the mouth of the patient.
