Method and device for the vibrational mechanical activation of composite materials

The invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry and is intended to reinforce composite materials used for elimination various defects of hard dental tissues of carious and non-carious origin in the process of direct/indirect, reinforced/unreinforced composite restoration. The claimed method includes vibrational mechanical activation of composite materials by a vibrational impact on portions of composite material shaped by manual mechanical activation (e.g., roll/ball) and applied layer by layer to a defect area. A device for vibrational mechanical activation of a composite material includes at least one working part for applying a composite material to a defect, the working part fixedly attached to a handle, which is connected by a framework to a micromotor that creates vibration which are transferred via the working portion to a layer of composite material by distributing the same across the entire surface of the defect and achieving the simultaneous surface plastic deformation thereof.

METHOD AND PRODUCT FOR CARIES TREATMENT
20200179236 · 2020-06-11 ·

The present invention provides new dental care products comprising self-assembling peptides (SAP) that are capable of undergoing self-assembly at a certain pH for use in dental care, e.g. preventing and/or treating a tooth lesion such as a caries lesion, remineralising a tooth surface, increasing smoothness or shine or increasing hardness of a tooth surface. The dental care products may be administered following a simple protocol involving multiple steps, e.g., comprising tooth brushing with a sonic tooth-brush such as an ultrasonic toothbrush and/or use of an oral irrigator, thereby enabling non-targeted treatment of a plurality of teeth in a subject, independent of the diagnosis of active caries, i,e., not previously successfully treated caries. The invention also relates to said method as well as kits and devices suitable therefor.

VIBRATION APPARATUS FOR DENTAL CARE

Disclosed is a vibration apparatus for dental care including a body in which a vibrator is embedded; a tip part connected to the body to extend to an outside of the body and configured to transmit vibration energy of the vibrator to a resin applied to a tooth; and a controller configured to control a magnitude of vibration energy generated from the vibrator and transmitted to the tip part, wherein the controller controls a vibration frequency of the tip part within a range of 3 to 70 Hz. According to such configuration, the viscosity of resin attached to a tooth is lowered so that the resin can be easily formed into a desired shape and the tooth can be treated without generation of voids in the resin.

Ultrasonic endodontic surgical instrument

An ultrasonic root end retro-preparation endodontic apical surgical instrument. The instrument has a double-angled shape with a length of between about 1-2 in (2.5-5.1 mm), and is made of a metal which safely and effectively propagates ultrasonic energy from a base segment to a bent distal tip with a length of between about 0.08-0.15 in (0.20-0.38 mm). The instrument includes a swivel segment that permits rotation of the bent distal tip of up to 360. By allowing the bent distal tip to be swiveled, the instrument may be used for all quadrants, anterior and posterior teeth without switching out the instrument for another one.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PERIODONTAL SCALING AND DEBRIDEMENT AND GUM TISSUE ABLATION FOR TREATING PERIODONTAL AND PERI-IMPLANT DISEASE
20200022781 · 2020-01-23 ·

The present disclosure is directed to tools, systems and methods for recontouring/reshaping gum tissue by engaging a consumable tip on a dental hand tool to abrade/ablate excess or mal-contoured gum tissue to allow better visualization of the tooth/implant structure and reduce the periodontal pockets to provide improved access for cleaning. In some embodiments, the dental hand tool may use vibrational movement, longitudinal reciprocating movement, rotational movement, reciprocating rotational movement, or a combination of any of the above movement schemes. In some embodiments, a consumable tip may be directed for cleaning tooth/implant surfaces and for recontouring/reshaping gum tissue.

INTERPROXIMAL POLISHING BUR
20200022782 · 2020-01-23 ·

A slender polishing tip is disclosed. In one example, it is an interproximal polishing bur, which is a dental instrument that is a small bit used in a high-speed handpiece by a dentist to perform dental work on the teeth of a patient. It smooths the adjacent tooth or restoration. An adjacent tooth may inadvertently become nicked by the high-speed handpiece while working on a tooth, leaving the adjacent surface roughened. This roughened surface will attract more bacteria and can be harmful to the health of the dentition. Presently, there are no such burs slender enough to fit into the small space available between the prepared tooth and the adjacent tooth to allow appropriate smoothing. The interproximal polishing bur described is small and slender with a particular shape designed to re-finish and re-polish the surfaces of an adjacent gold crown, porcelain crown, and natural dentition.

Dental implant

A dental implant includes an anchoring region (12) for anchoring in a bone, which preferably includes a thread (14) for screwing in the bone, and a fastening region (22) for attaching a supra-construction, wherein an abutment region (16) adjoins the anchoring region (12), the abutment region (16) having a guide structure with a plurality of outwardly projecting ridges (18) provided thereon, and preferably, grooves (20) being formed between the ridges (20). The guide structure of the anchoring region (12) allows a better osseointegration and counteracts peri-implant bone loss.
