An orthodontic appliance may include an archwire and multiple orthodontic brackets. The archwire may fit within a human mouth and contain multiple male connectors. Each orthodontic bracket may have a configuration that facilitates attaching the orthodontic bracket to a single tooth. Each orthodontic bracket may allow one of the male connectors to be locked into the orthodontic bracket with a snapping action. The male connector may be unable to slide with respect to the orthodontic bracket after being locked in the orthodontic bracket. A manual unlocking action may allow the male connector to disengage from the orthodontic bracket.

A method of aligning teeth and an orthodontic appliance are provided. The orthodontic appliance is configured to be adhered to a surface of a tooth and configured to receive a plurality of differently sized archwires. The orthodontic appliance includes a bonding surface configured to be adhered to the surface of the tooth, an opposing outside surface, a plurality of sidewalls extending between the bonding surface and the opposing outside surface, and an archwire groove extending from a sidewall of the plurality of sidewalls parallelly between the bonding surface and the opposing outside surface.

A bracket attachment system is described herein. One variation of an orthodontic bracket assembly generally comprises a main body having a contact surface for placement against a surface and defining a wire slot therethrough. A covering having a retention member configured to be inserted at least partially into the wire slot when the covering is positioned upon the main body may be included such that when a wire is positioned within the wire slot, the wire may be retained via the retention member in a secured position.

An orthodontic wax dispenser is described herein. For example, certain embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a pocket-sized orthodontic wax dispenser that has an internal storage compartment for orthodontic wax, a press mechanism (e.g., a threaded piston) to compress the stored wax through an extrusion aperture, and optionally a lid or cover, which may double as a wax cutting mechanism.

An orthodontic bracket assembly treatment system comprising a bracket base and at least two rigid selectable bracket covers slidably engageable with the bracket base wherein the selectable at least two rigid selectable bracket covers are removably slidably couplable to said bracket base by slidably engaging the upper lip with the upper retention element and the lower lip with the lower retention element and wherein the width of the face of a first one of the at least two rigid selectable bracket covers is wider than the width of the face of a second one of the at least two rigid bracket covers and can be selectively releasably attached to the base during a treatment such that the treatment utilizes either the first bracket cover or the second bracket cover depending on a patient's treatment needs at a stage of the treatment.

An orthodontics cover shields a patient's mouth from orthodontic appliances. The orthodontics cover comprises an arched shaped strip that has a protective outer perimeter to shield the patient's mouth. The strip has an inner perimeter having a longitudinally extending channel. The channel is formed on the inner perimeter of the strip, between opposed longitudinal ends. The channel covers the exterior surface of the patient's orthodontics appliances, such as braces or wires. The opposed longitudinal ends of the strip have lateral side flanges that cover an end portion of the patient's orthodontics appliances, such as the end of an orthodontics wire, to prevent engagement with the patient's mouth.

A cover device formed of a plastic or similar composition is structured for removable attachment over a bracket of an orthodontic appliance to conceal the bracket from view. The cover device includes a main plate with an outer front face, and top and bottom claws integrally formed with the main plate, curling behind the main plate, and each terminating at distal ends in spaced, opposing relation to each other behind the main plate. The front face includes an ornamental design or other indicia that is applied by polymer fusion technology to significantly reduce the risk of exposing the user to inks and pigment compositions, particularly if the cover device is accidentally swallowed. The application of the indicia by polymer fusion technology also increases the structural integrity of the cover device; mechanically strengthening the cover device at its point of greatest flexure.

A brace cap is disclosed, and a method for using such. The brace cap has an annular design with an asymmetric c-shape rotated around a central axis, configured to surround a brace bracket to prevent the brace bracket from irritating adjacent surfaces within a mouth of a user. The asymmetric c-shape has a first arm and a second arm, where the first arm is longer than the second arm.

An orthodontic bracket and archform system that uses friction-free mechanics are disclosed. The archform can have a male fastener that can be retained within an orthodontic bracket. The orthodontic bracket can have varying locking mechanism, such as deflectable tabs, springs, locking pins, and others, that can cooperate with features of the male fastener to prevent sliding between the archform and the bracket.
