Orthodontic retention components, kit and system
An orthodontic retention system includes a fixed component that remains on teeth and a component that attaches to this fixed component. The fixed component and the component have mating or interlocking parts. The component that mates with the fixed component can be removable. The component that mates with the fixed component can be adjustable. The retention system also can include magnetic retention components to retain the removable component with respect to one or more teeth. The retention system also can include an element that replaces as tooth.
Extended buccal tube
This disclosure generally describes an extended buccal tube which is used in connection with braces for the teeth. The extended buccal tube accommodates an arch wire of a sufficient length to allow space to be created between one or more teeth while retaining the arch wire within a tube of the extended buccal tube. As space is created and the arch wire slides through the extended buccal tube, an overall length of the arch wire may be monitored through one or more windows in the extended buccal tube. Tooth pads on extended buccal tube may be rotatable by up to 20° in two axes for fitment purposes. When space has been created between the one or more teeth, extended buccal tube may be cut along scoring lines to separate teeth that were bonded together by the extended buccal tube.
Surface treated polycrystalline ceramic orthodontic bracket and method of making same
An orthodontic bracket for coupling an archwire with a tooth. The orthodontic bracket including a ceramic injection molded (CIM) bracket body including an archwire slot that is configured to receive the archwire therein. The CIM bracket body including a polycrystalline ceramic. A coating of alumina or silicon dioxide is in continuous and direct contact with at least the surfaces of the archwire slot. The orthodontic bracket is characterized by unexpectedly high torque strength. The ceramic injection molded (CIM) bracket body may include a polycrystalline ceramic having a grain size distribution characterized by an average grain size in the range of larger than 3.4 μm to about 6 μm such that the orthodontic bracket is also characterized by unexpectedly high fracture toughness. A method of making the orthodontic bracket includes injection molding a bracket using a ceramic powder, sintering the molded bracket, and coating the ceramic injection molded bracket.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR PREDICTABLE ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
A system for generating a treatment plan for repositioning a plurality of teeth comprises instructions to receive a digital data set representing the plurality of teeth, and determine a movement trajectory for repositioning, each tooth from an initial position and orientation towards a target position and orientation. The movement trajectory of at least one tooth comprises movement along a plurality of different directions. A movement velocity is determined for repositioning each tooth along the corresponding movement trajectory. The movement velocity is determined independently for each tooth, and the movement velocity for the at least one tooth is determined independently for each direction.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AN ORTHODONTIC DEVICE
A method of aligning teeth and an orthodontic appliance are provided. The orthodontic appliance is configured to be adhered to a surface of a tooth and configured to receive a plurality of differently sized archwires. The orthodontic appliance includes a bonding surface configured to be adhered to the surface of the tooth, an opposing outside surface, a plurality of sidewalls extending between the bonding surface and the opposing outside surface, and an archwire groove extending from a sidewall of the plurality of sidewalls parallelly between the bonding surface and the opposing outside surface.
IMPLANT POSITIONING DEVICE FOR AN ORTHODONTIC BRACE
An implant positioning device is fitted on to an orthodontic brace of a patient and used in between an X-ray projecting machine and an X-ray film. The implant positioning device includes a measuring standard member, that forms a detection region by means of a radiopaque material and has a positioning unit on one side of the detection region. The detection region is provided with at least one set of measuring scales. An encircled member is integrated with one side of the measuring standard member and forms an encircling main body that is connected to the orthodontic brace. A sleeved space is collectively formed by the encircling main body and the measuring standard member.

FLEXIBLE ORTHODONTIC DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
An orthodontic device is disclosed comprising a head configured to be coupled to a tooth, the head having a first geometric configuration such that actuation of the head facilitates adjustment of the tooth, a neck adjacent the head to facilitate coupling of the head to the tooth, the neck having a second geometric configuration, the neck operable to transfer a force exerted on the head to the tooth and at least one of the neck and the head comprising a flexible material. In some embodiments, the orthodontic device further comprises a member operable to engage the head such that actuation of the head facilitates physical adjustment of the tooth and the member comprises an aligner and the aligner further comprises at least one well configured to engage the head.
Adjustable-prescription orthodontic brackets
Adjustable-prescription orthodontic brackets that include a bracket body, a repositionable core that defines an archwire slot, and a core positioning assembly. The bracket body defines a core receptacle into which the core is received and selectively moved within a plurality of prescriptive orientations. The core positioning assembly is selectively transitioned between a disengaged configuration, in which the core positioning assembly permits movement of the core relative to the bracket body within the plurality of prescriptive orientations, and an engaged configuration, in which the core positioning assembly retains the core at the selected prescriptive orientation. The core positioning assembly includes a core clamp with a core engagement surface configured to be selectively engaged with the core, and an actuator configured to selectively secure the core clamp in engagement with the core to retain the core at the selected prescriptive orientation.
