Method of tongue preconditioning in preparation for lingual orthodontic treatment
Disclosed herein are devices, systems, and method for preconditioning lingual tissue for lingual orthodontic treatment, including the application of lingual braces. Protuberances may be affixed to the lingual surfaces of one or more of a patient's teeth prior to the introduction of an orthodontic appliance to allow time for the tongue to adapt to the presence of foreign structures. The protuberances may promote keratinization of the lingual tissue. The protuberances may be removed prior to the application of the orthopedic appliance. The protuberances can be pre-fabricated or fabricated in situ on the surfaces of the teeth. The protuberances may be any suitable material, including metal, polymer, or ceramic.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURE OF ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to providing data files associated with orthodontic appliances. In some embodiments, a system for providing data files associated with orthodontic appliances comprises a database, wherein the database stores the data files associated with the orthodontic appliances and a control circuit, wherein the control circuit is communicatively coupled to the database, a user device, and a printer, wherein the control circuit is configured to receive, from the user device, an indication of a selected orthodontic device, retrieve, based on the indication of the selected orthodontic device from the database, one of the data files associated with the orthodontic appliances, wherein the one of the data files associated with the orthodontic appliances corresponds to the selected orthodontic appliance, and transmit, to the printer, the one of the data files associated with the orthodontic appliances.
ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE AND METHOD OF FORMING AND APPLYING SAME
An orthodontic appliance includes an indirect bonding tray; at least one bracket segment integrally formed with the indirect boding tray; an integral slot location feature formed in the at least one bracket segment; a support structure configured to be bonded with the at least one bracket segment and wherein the integral slot location feature is configured to positively orient the support structure relative to the at least one bracket segment, the support structure being further configured to retain an arch-wire; and wherein a weakened section joins the indirect bonding tray and the at least one bracket segment, the weakened section being configured to facilitate removal of the indirect bonding tray from the at least bracket segment after installation of the at least one bracket segment. An associated method of creating and installing the orthodontic appliance is also disclosed.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZING DENTAL ALIGNER GEOMETRY
Method and system for establishing an initial position of a tooth, determining a target position of the tooth in a treatment plan, calculating a movement vector associated with the tooth movement from the initial position to the target position, determining a plurality of components corresponding to the movement vector, and determining a corresponding one or more positions of a respective one or more attachment devices relative to a surface plane of the tooth such that the one or more attachment devices engages with a dental appliance are provided.
