DENTAL APPLIANCES AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present technology comprises methods of manufacturing an orthodontic appliance. For example, a method can include forming an orthodontic appliance in an intermediate configuration by a casting process. The method can further include securing the appliance to a shape forming fixture such that the appliance assumes a desired configuration. The shape forming fixture can comprise a gingiva portion including a surface having a shape corresponding at least in part to a gingiva of a patient and a securing portion carried by the gingiva portion and configured to releasably secure to a portion of the appliance. The method can further include setting a shape of the appliance while the appliance is secured to the shape forming fixture.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING AN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT PLAN
A method and a system for determining an orthodontic treatment plan including a tooth stripping step are provided. The method comprises: acquiring a 3D digital model of a first tooth and a second tooth of the subject, the second tooth being adjacent the first tooth; receiving a stripping request for stripping tooth material, from at least one of the first tooth along a first stripping plane and the second tooth along a second stripping plane; determining, along a surface of the first tooth, a first area of interest; determining, along the surface of the second tooth, a second area of interest; determining a distance between a first set of vertices associated with the first area of interest and a second set of vertices associated with the second area of interest; in response to the distance being greater than a predetermined distance threshold, denying, by the processor, the stripping request.
REMOVABLE RETAINER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Proposed is a removable retainer including a body part that is formed of a shape memory alloy material and has a front surface in close contact with the outer tooth surface of each tooth, and a fixing part coupled to the body part and fixing the body part, wherein the body part includes a curved protrusion part formed to protrude toward an interdental space to be inserted into the interdental space, and multiple support parts. A manufacturing method of the removable retainer includes a step of acquiring three-dimensional scanning data, a data processing step of generating first and second processing lines, a laser cutting step of laser cutting a flat plate-shaped base material to form a body-part forming part, a shape processing step of cutting the body-part forming part, and a fixing part coupling step of coupling the manufactured body part and the manufactured fixing part to each other.
ORTHODONTIC MOUTHPIECE AND ORTHODONTIC MEANS USING MOUTHPIECE
A conventional orthodontic mouthpiece has poor correction force compared to wire connection and hence, a large number of orthodontic mouthpieces are necessary until the completion of orthodontics and a long orthodontic period becomes necessary. Further, there has been a case where the ideal orthodontics cannot be realized with the use of only an orthodontic mouthpiece. In an orthodontic mouthpiece that performs orthodontics by covering an entire dentition that includes a tooth to be corrected with an orthodontic mouthpiece body, a portion of the orthodontic mouthpiece body that is brought into contact with a tooth in a specified dentition in the vicinity of molar teeth or in the vicinity of front teeth is cut away so as to provide a state where the specified dentition is exposed from the orthodontic mouthpiece body. Accordingly, the orthodontics can be performed using both the orthodontic mouthpiece and another tooth correcting unit.
ORTHODONTIC BRACKET AND BRACKET SUPPORT SYSTEM AND METHOD
An orthodontic bracket and bracket support system, and its method of manufacture and use is provided. The system includes a bracket assembly including one or more bracket members to be bonded to a patient’s teeth, a placement guide assembly including one or more placement members to properly position the bracket members for the bonding procedure, and a support assembly to support the bracket assembly and/or the placement guide assembly during manufacture and use. The bracket assembly, the placement guide assembly, and the support assembly are formed together and in combination using stereolithography three-dimensional (3D) printing.

ORTHODONTIC ARCHWIRE
An orthodontic archwire is configured to treat a number of malocclusions. The archwire has a straight anterior section between a first posterior section and a second posterior section. The first posterior section and the second posterior section each have multiple radii of curvature and are mirror images of each other.

Orthodontic gripping device
The present invention relates to an orthodontic gripping device having a body made of a superelastic metal alloy, cold worked titanium beta III, or solution heat treated and aged titanium beta III. The body has first and second, spaced apart arm portions connected to each other. Each arm portion includes a jaw portion having an inner, arch wire-gripping, surface. The inner gripping surfaces are disposed opposite one another in spaced relation with a station defined therebetween for receiving the arch wire. At least a portion of the station is sized smaller than the arch wire. The arm portions are resiliently deflectable outwardly away from each other to admit the arch wire into the station. Once seated in the station, the arch wire is tightly held by inner gripping surfaces so as to resist displacement of the gripping device relative to the arch wire.
