Orthodontic shape memory band
11484391 · 2022-11-01 · ·

A method for producing a shape memory band of an orthodontic appliance. The shape memory band is one piece, has a cross section that can vary according to the longitudinal position of said cross section, and includes a bonding zone configured so as to exhibit a shape substantially identical to that of a tooth. The method includes: determining an orthodontic treatment suitable for treating the teeth, determining a set of forces to be exerted locally on the teeth in order to obtain the orthodontic treatment and the shape of the surface of the teeth to which bonding zones of the shape memory band are to be bonded, and producing the shape memory band. The local cross section of the shape memory band is determined according to the forces and in such a way as to define bonding zones substantially identical to the surfaces of the teeth.

BUCCAL TUBE WITH HIDDEN TRACTION HOOK

A buccal tube includes a main body. The main body is provided with a traction hook which can move or rotate relative to the main body, and the main body is internally provided with an accommodation space. When the traction hook is not in use, the traction hook is disposed in the accommodation space. When the traction hook is in use, one end of the traction hook outwardly rotates or moves away from the accommodation space.

An apparatus and a related pair of elements and methods are for aligning or positioning teeth. The apparatus is configured to be worn in a mouth of a wearer and further configured to be supported on the teeth of the wearer, and has elements arranged to be distributed along a set of the teeth and at least one engager member for engaging the elements for moving one or more of the teeth. In such embodiments, at least one pair of the elements can be engaged such that when in use, at least one part of one of the elements in the pair bears against at least one part of the other of the elements in the pair.

Self-ligating bracket for orthodontics
11633262 · 2023-04-25 · ·

A self-ligating bracket for orthodontics, includes: a groove for receiving an archwire; a slide which can be displaced between a closed position in which it bridges the groove and an open position in which the groove is open; and a locking element which can hold the slide both in its closed position and in its open position. In the gingival and/or in the occlusal wall, a recess is open towards the slide in which the locking element is inserted which is directed against the slide. The locking element is displaceably guided in the recess and has elastically or elastomerically bendable tines which, when the slide is pushed over the convex end of the locking element, are displaced deeper into the recess, thereby being elastically or elastomerically bent and thereby building up a restoring force.

Orthodontic bracket with a biased ligating member

The disclosure relates to an orthodontic bracket including a ligating member mountable to a bracket body, the ligating member moveable between an open and closed position over an archwire slot. The orthodontic bracket includes a channel formed between the bracket body and the ligating member, and a resilient biasing member extending into the channel, the biasing member interacting with the ligating member to retain the ligating member in either the open or closed position.

SELF-LIGATING BRACKET

A self-ligating bracket and a clip for a self-ligating bracket include a first clip arm and a second clip arm. The first arm terminates in a mesial arm, a distal arm, and a middle arm. The clip is moveable between an open position in which the arch wire slot is accessible and a closed position in which the arch wire slot is occluded. The second clip arm extends past the first, second, and third arms of the first clip arm. The self-ligating bracket includes a bracket body with an arch wire slot and the second clip arm positioned lingually of the arch wire slot.

EXTENDED BUCCAL TUBE

This disclosure generally describes an extended buccal tube which is used in connection with braces for the teeth. The extended buccal tube accommodates an arch wire of a sufficient length to allow space to be created between one or more teeth while retaining the arch wire within a tube of the extended buccal tube. As space is created and the arch wire slides through the extended buccal tube, an overall length of the arch wire may be monitored through one or more windows in the extended buccal tube. Tooth pads on extended buccal tube may be rotatable by up to 20° in two axes for fitment purposes. When space has been created between the one or more teeth, extended buccal tube may be cut along scoring lines to separate teeth that were bonded together by the extended buccal tube.
