An implant suitable for being anchored with the aid of mechanical vibration in an opening provided in bone tissue. The implant is compressible in the direction of a compression axis under local enlargement of a distance between a peripheral implant surface and the compression axis. The present invention is related to the dentistry field. Dental attachment assemblies for a mouth of a patient are provided. Contemplated dental attachment assemblies may include an abutment member, and a retention member for attachment to the abutment member. The retention member may comprise an upper end and a continuous, unbroken skirt projecting from the upper end for fixed, non-patient removable, fixed engagement over an outer locating surface of the abutment member. The retention member can be constructed from a rigid material, such as PEEK, such that it provides a retentive force of about 10 to 75 pounds. The abutment member may be configured for attachment to an implant having an upper portion including a threaded portion configured to screw into a threaded recess of an abutment, and a lower portion including an angled platform and a threaded post extending from the platform.

A system for dental restorations may comprise an abutment comprising an implant engaging portion and a component supporting portion terminating in a coronal end of the abutment. The implant engaging portion may extend apically from the component supporting portion and may have an external surface feature configured to be received in mating engagement within an opening in a dental implant. The component supporting portion may comprise at least one first snap-fit retention feature disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the component supporting portion. The system may further comprise a temporary coping made from a material that permits chemical bonding of the temporary coping with a veneering material of a temporary tooth restoration. The temporary coping may comprise at least one second snap-fit retention feature configured for snap-fit engagement with the at least one first snap-fit retention feature of the abutment.
