DENTAL IMPLANT
20210244512 · 2021-08-12 ·

A dental implant and a method of dental restoration. In one embodiment, the dental implant includes at least one root adapted to be inserted into a hole of a mandibular bone or a maxillary bone, and an abutment on top of the root adapted to mate with a crown. Each root may be a lattice scaffold configured to house bone grafting material. A bone grafting material may be inserted within the lattice scaffold to occupy vacant space within the root and the hole of the mandible/maxilla. A method of dental restoration may include obtaining an image of at least a portion of a mandibular bone or a maxillary bone of a patient, drilling a hole into the mandibular bone or maxillary bone, inserting a one-piece dental implant with an abutment and one or more non-threaded roots into the hole, and installing a crown on the abutment of the one-piece dental implant.

FASTENER AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION

The invention is a fastener for medical or dental use which requires minimal preparation of a site in bone. According to one embodiment the fastener includes a shank and a head having an aperture with a torque-receiving aperture such as a threaded hole or a polygon such as a hex-sided hole. The other end of the shank is a blunt or a sharp point. Another embodiment includes a radially spaced apart series of strakes each having a linearly spaced apart series of barbs. An alternative embodiment includes on the shank a radially spaced apart series of linear arrays of barbs emerging from the shank itself. The linear spacings may be staggered from one radial line to the next so that as a whole the barbs are arranged into one or more continuous helicies.

Dental implant system

A dental prosthesis securing system secures a dental prosthesis to a dental implant. An abutment for cement has a base surface for placement against the dental implant. The base surface does not define an engagement shape that requires alignment with a complementary shape defined by the implant. A securing mechanism secures the abutment for cement to the dental implant.

DENTAL IMPLANT WITH POROUS INGROWTH MATERIAL

A dental implant includes: a base having exterior surfaces and a plug opening formed therein; a plug assembly inserted into the plug opening; and at least one region of porous ingrowth material associated with at least one of the exterior surfaces of the base.

Dental insert

A dental insert consists of a spherical body of a medical grade elastomer. The body has a circumference with a plurality of outwardly extending projections of uniform size and shape distributed evenly about the circumference. The body is not more than 10 mm in diameter, as measured from an outer extremity of the projections. This dental insert has application in implant dentistry and endodontics.

IMPLANT PLACEMENT ASSIST SYSTEM
20210145549 · 2021-05-20 ·

Implant placement assist (IPA) systems and methods for creating a dental implant chamber in an alveolar ridge of a jawbone of a patient, the alveolar ridge being atrophied and needing augmentation before a dental implant can be placed. The IPA system includes a non-osseous spacer and an anchor to maintain a position of the non-osseous spacer within a bone graft cavity of a patient. Bone graft material can be positioned around the non-osseous spacer and the anchor and maintained within the bone graft cavity during healing, where bone is regenerated within the bone graft cavity. After healing, the non-osseous spacer can be removed, thereby forming the dental implant chamber that is immediately ready to receive a dental implant.

Dental implant

A dental implant having a central longitudinal axis at a bone-entry portion thereof is provided. The dental implant includes a threaded elongate fixture, at the bone-entry portion of the dental implant, shaped and sized for insertion into a bone of a subject, and a non-threaded emergence collar coronal to the fixture and smoother than the fixture. The emergence collar has a non-circular cross-section at least in a plane that is at least 1 millimeter coronal to the fixture and that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the emergence collar and the fixture being formed of, and adjacently disposed along, a single piece of metal. Other applications are also described.

DRILL-LESS DENTAL IMPLANT AND USES THEREOF

A drill-less dental implant to be implanted in a jaw bone comprises a screw thread comprising a core having a surface and a sharp tip and a spiral protrusion extending from the surface, wherein when the screw thread is rotationally screwed into the jaw bone, the sharp tip linearly penetrates the jaw bone, and a prosthesis support is attached to an upper edge of the screw thread and configured to support a dental prosthesis. A method of implanting the drill-less dental implant without drilling prior to the implantation is also provided.

Pluggable implant

A pluggable implant is disclosed that is comprising an implant body extending between a distal end and an apical end, and comprising a cavity extending from the distal end towards the apical end, the cavity capable of accommodating a plug insertable from the distal end towards the apical end, such that when the plug is fully inserted and located in its apically-most position, the plug seals the cavity. Moreover, there is a method for plugging a hollow implant is disclosed, the implant comprising an implant body extending between a distal end and an apical end, and comprising a cavity extending from the distal end towards the apical end; wherein a plug is removably inserted into the implant through the cavity from the distal end towards the apical end such that when the plug is in fully inserted position and located in its apically-most position, the plug seals the cavity.

A dental implant includes an implant body with a coronally open cavity and at least one exit opening from an inside to the enossal outer surface. A thermoplastic element in the solid state is arranged in the cavity, and is brought into an at least partly flowable condition by applying a pressing force directed apically into the cavity, and mechanical oscillations. A portion of the flowable material of the thermoplastic element is pressed through the exit opening into surrounding bone tissue, when the implant body is arranged in an opening in the bone tissue and the enossal outer surface is in contact with the bone tissue. A re-solidification of the thermoplastic material after discontinuing the vibrations causes an anchoring through the connection between interpenetrated tissue and the implant body via the thermoplastic material penetrating both.
