The present invention is a surgical guide for guiding the insertion of a dental implant into a desired location in a patient's mouth. The implant includes a non-rotational structure. The surgical guide includes a structure and a master tube. The structure has a negative impression surface to be fitted on and placed over gingival tissue, bone, and/or teeth in the patient's mouth. The structure includes an opening through which the dental implant is placed. The master tube is located at the opening. The master tube includes indicia for alignment with the non-rotational structure on the implant such that the non-rotational structure of the implant is at a known angular orientation with respect to the master tube. The present invention includes kits of various components used with the surgical guide and with the dental surgery using the surgical guide.

Bite Controlled Drill-Head Guide Plate and Manufacturing Method Thereof
20200121427 · 2020-04-23 ·

The present disclosure discloses a bite controlled drill-head guide plate and a manufacturing method. The guide plate includes an upper matrix controlled by an upper tooth, and an upper alveolar bone or mucosa, and a lower matrix controlled by a lower tooth, and a lower alveolar bone or mucosa; a support body is disposed between the upper matrix and the lower matrix; and a control mechanism for positioning and guiding an implant drill-head is disposed on the support body, the upper matrix or the lower matrix. When in use, the guide plate is placed between upper and lower teeth of a patient, and is fixed by enabling the upper and lower teeth to respectively bite the upper matrix and the lower matrix; and then, the drill-head is placed into the control mechanism that is set according to implantation data, and the drill-head is moved to an alveolar bone along a direction of the control mechanism in implant drilling. Since the guide plate guides and positions the drill-head, the positioning and guiding accuracy is improved, the guide plate is prevented from contacting with a high-speed rotating drill bit directly, and the additional heating amount of the drill bit is not increased. The guide plate can be fixed only by biting of the patient, so that the multi-person operation in tooth implantation work turns out to be unnecessary, and the operation difficulty in tooth implantation is reduced.

SURGICAL SYSTEMS AND TRAYS

According to one example, a medical tray for a surgical procedure is disclosed. The medical tray can optionally comprise: a housing; and one or more tray inserts configured to be received within the housing and having a first major surface and one or more support. The one or more tray inserts are configured to receive a plurality of dental surgical instruments via a plurality of receptacles formed therein. The plurality of receptacles having corresponding openings in the first major surface. The one or more tray inserts configured to be at least one of: removable from the housing and configured with the one or more supports so as to be positionable exterior to and independent of the housing, or the plurality of receptacles are angled such that the dental surgical instruments when received therein are positioned at an acute angle relative to the first major surface.

TWO-PART MODELLING AID

A two part modelling aid (1, 100) for connection to a dental implant component (200), the modelling aid comprising a hollow base part (10, 110) comprising an open apical end (14, 114), an open coronal end (16, 116) and a tubular side wall (12, 112) extending from the apical to coronal end along a linear longitudinal axis (L.sub.B), the side wall having an interior and an exterior surface, one of said surfaces comprising an anti-rotation section (18, 118) having a non-circular symmetric cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and a hollow angled part (30, 30) comprising an open apical end (34, 134), an open coronal end (36, 136) and a tubular side wall (32, 132) extending between the apical end and coronal end and having an interior and exterior surface, the tubular side wall forming an apical portion (35, 135) of the angled part extending along a first linear axis (L.sub.1), and a coronal portion (37, 137) of the angled part extending along a second axis, the second axis being non-coaxial to the first axis such that the tubular sidewall creates a non-linear channel (38, 138), the apical portion being sized and shaped to form a friction fit with the base part, wherein, when the base part is connected to the angled part, a closed channel (60, 160) is formed extending from the apical end of the base part to the coronal end of the angled part, the first axis of the apical portion of the angled part being coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the base part and the anti-rotation section of the base part being exposed on a surface of the base part.

IMPLANT SURGERY GUIDING METHOD
20190380811 · 2019-12-19 ·

The present disclosure provides an implant surgery guiding method of guiding a position, direction and depth of a fixture to a dentist by real-time images The implant surgery guiding method includes: (a) generating a 3D oral cavity image for a patient; (b) designing a target placement including a target position and a target orientation of a fixture based in the 3D oral cavity image; (c) attaching an oral marker comprising a first pattern to a jawbone or a surrounding body portion of the patient, determining a spatial relationship between the oral marker and the jawbone, attaching a handpiece marker comprising a second pattern on a handpiece of a dentist, and determining a spatial relationship between the handpiece marker and the handpiece; and (d) estimating positions and orientations of the jawbone and the handpiece based on changes in positions and orientations of the oral marker and the handpiece marker while tracking the motions of the oral marker and the handpiece marker, and displaying a jawbone image portion and a handpiece image portion on a screen reflecting real-time changes in the positions and orientations of the jawbone and the handpiece.
