PALATAL CONTOUR ANCHORAGE
An orthodontic alignment device can have a palatal contour anchorage (PCA) feature that generally matches the shape of the patient's hard pallet. This PCA feature may be built slightly off-set to deliberately push against the patient's palate and/or gingiva to provide anchorage support of staged translation of the teeth. By transferring the required anchorage away from the teeth and onto the palate, through the PCA feature, the adjacent teeth are no longer subjected to unwanted side effects of reaction forces.
BASE MATERIAL FOR SCREW, SCREW, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
The present invention provides a base material for a pure titanium screw or a pure titanium screw which has sufficient strength comparable to those of titanium alloys. The present invention provides a substantially cylindrical pure titanium base material or a substantially cylindrical pure titanium screw having a maximum value of the specific strength of the (1 0-1 0)-plane orientation in the axial direction of the substantially cylindrical shape of 3 or more.
INTERMAXILLARY FIXATION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A method for fixating or stabilizing a subject's mandible and maxilla includes providing multiple bone fasteners, providing two arch bars, attaching a first grouping of the bone fasteners to the subject's mandible, then securing the first arch bar to the first grouping of bone fasteners, attaching a second grouping of the bone fasteners to the subject's maxilla, then securing the second arch bar to the second grouping of bone fasteners, and then fastening the first arch bar to the second arch bar.
PALATAL EXPANDER WITH SKELETAL ANCHORAGE DEVICES
A series of a palatal expanders increasing width can be used to gradually expand a patient's palate. Each palatal expander may have a palatal region flanked by teeth regions. The palatal region can have a plurality of anchor-receiving features (e.g., anchor interfaces) that allow the palatal expander to be attached to temporary anchorage device anchors that have been implanted into the patient's maxilla.
Dual Expanding Palatal Distractor
An orthodontic distractor includes two rods connected so as to be spread apart are brought together at either end. Also, a first coupling assembly is configured to couple the first rod to a bicuspid and a molar tooth of a patient and a second coupling assembly is configured to couple the second rod to a bicuspid and a molar tooth of a patient. Also, the first coupling assembly includes first extension arms attached to the first rod so as to permit adjustment of a vertical angle between said first rod and said first extension arms, and the second coupling assembly comprises second extension arms coupled to the second rod, so as to permit adjustment of a vertical angle between said first rod and said first extension arms.
Method for checking tooth positions
The invention relates to a method for checking tooth positions, wherein an initial three-dimensional volume exposure (1) of teeth (2, 3, 4) to be checked is implemented, wherein the position and orientation of the teeth (2, 3, 4) to be checked are determined based on the initial volume exposure (1); wherein the teeth to be checked are natural teeth (2, 3, 4) comprised of tooth stumps (6, 7, 8) and tooth roots (9, 10, 11) and/or are artificial teeth comprised of artificial tooth stumps and implants; wherein the positional relationship and orientation of the tooth stumps (6, 7, 8) relative to the tooth roots (9, 10, 11) and/or to the implants are determined in particular. For checking, a first optical surface monitoring exposure (25) of the teeth (2, 3, 4) is implemented, wherein using the positional relationship thus determined the position and orientation of the tooth roots (9, 10, 11) and/or of the implants relative to one another and/or relative to a jawbone (5) are determined based on the position of the surfaces (13, 14, 15) of the tooth stumps (6, 7, 8) from the optical surface monitoring exposure (25).
Drill assistance device, screw guide device, and orthodontic tool installation-assisting device set
An aspect of the present invention is a drill assistance device comprising: a drill guide device that serves as a guide when forming a plurality of holes from a curved surface of a hard palate having the curved surface; and a guide sleeve that is fitted in the drill guide device in an attachable and detachable manner. With this device, it is possible to easily and accurately perform the hole making with a drill and the implant of a screw in an oral cavity. The drill guide device comprises: a guide frame unit that is formed by connecting a plurality of tubular guide frames to each other; a fixing member to be capped on a tooth of a patient; a connecting portion that connects the guide frame unit and the fixing member and determines arrangement of the guide frame unit on the curved surface; and at least one protruding portion that holds the guide sleeve inserted in any of holes inside the guide frames. The guide sleeve comprises: a tubular sleeve main body having an inner diameter that allows the drill to be inserted and an outer diameter that allows the sleeve main body to be inserted in any of the guide frames; a water injection slit that is provided in the sleeve main body; and projecting portions that are each fitted in at least one recessed portion provided in the at least one protruding portion when the sleeve main body is inserted in any of the holes of the guide frames.
MEDICAL DEVICE, DEVICE STRUCTURES FOR DENTISTRY, FOR HEAD AND NECK SURGERY AND FOR ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY, AND METHOD FOR BONDING MEDICAL DEVICE TO BONE
A medical device includes a shaft portion with a hollow shape and inflected portions or an exposed portion. The shaft portion is inserted into a cortical bone or penetrates through the cortical bone and is inserted to a position reaching a cancellous bone at an inner side of the cortical bone. The inflected portions are inflected to radial direction outer sides from one end portion of an axial direction of the shaft portion, and are exposed at a surface of the cortical bone. The exposed portion includes a portion that extends to the radial direction outer side from the one end portion of the axial direction of the shaft portion, and is exposed at the surface of the cortical bone.
ORTHODONTIC IMPLANT STRUCTURE AND ORTHODONTIC IMPLANT JIG
An orthodontic implant structure (2) that is used by being implanted in bone in an oral cavity includes a first screw (6, 6B) having a screw body (6b) and an engaging portion (14), a plate securing implement (12, 13), a second screw, and a base plate having a first surface (4p) and a second surface (4q) and in which a first attachment hole (24A, 24B) and a second attachment hole (26) are formed.
