MULTIMODAL INTRAORAL SCANNING
20230021695 · 2023-01-26 · ·

A method of multimodal scanning may include generating surface scan data of an intraoral structured using structured light. The method may include generating volumetric scan data of an internal structure of the intraoral structure with OCT scanning. The OCT scan data may be aligned with the surface scan data. A three-dimensional volumetric model of the patient's dentition may be generated based on the aligned OCT scan data and the surface scan data.

Scanning dental impressions

Systems and methods are provided for scanning a dental impression to obtain a digital model of a patient's dentition as an input to computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) methods for producing dental prostheses.

Dental prosthesis blank

A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a monobloc or multibloc prosthesis blank (10), which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (12), which materials (12, 14) are bonded to each other by bonding, polymerization and/or one-piece manufacture. The boundary surface (16) between the materials is wave-shaped comprising alternating grooves (22) and ribs (24) in the course of the dental arch, and radial in an oral-vestibular direction in the region of the anterior teeth (33) to be created. The boundary surface (16), at least in the region of the molars (26)—again as viewed in the oral vestibular direction—has parallel grooves (22) and ribs (24) forming troughs and crests of the waveform, or grooves (22) and ribs (24) such that they extend in deviation from parallel by at most 10 degrees, in particular at most 5 degrees, at least in the region of the molars (26).

Dental implants with markers for determining three-dimensional positioning

Dental implants including radiopaque markers provided therein or thereon. The implant may also include customizable length characteristics. For example, a kit may include implants with different diameters (e.g., 3 diameters), where all of the implants are of a single (e.g., long) length. The appropriate diameter implant may be selected from the kit by the practitioner, and the long length implant may be cut (e.g., with a dental drill) to the appropriate length needed. The implants include radiopaque markers on or within the implant. For example, three series of markers may be provided on different “faces” of the implant, so that the three series of markers serve as reference points when scanning, allowing triangulation of the exact position of the implant in relation to the surrounding hard and soft oral tissues.

Method of producing a dental prosthesis

The invention relates to a method of producing a dental prosthesis from a one-piece or multi-piece prosthesis blank which is constructed from a gum-colored material and a tooth-colored material (32), in particular in each case on a plastic base. It is characterized by being connected to each other at connecting surfaces, having an interface between the gum-colored and tooth-colored materials. This interface, when viewed along the connecting surfaces has an undulating shape and viewed in the vestibular direction has a radial shape. In order to finish the dental prosthesis, a CAD/CAM device determines the exact course of a gingival line, based on patient-specific data, and produces the prosthesis.

Digital block out of digital preparation

A system and method include performing digital block-out of one or more digital preparation teeth.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ORDER PROCESSING FOR DENTAL PROSTHESIS PART MANUFACTURE

The invention relates to a server for sending and receiving data, in particular for an order control of production orders, wherein the server is adapted to establish a data connection with a plurality of order computers arranged distanced from the server at an orderer location and to receive an order data package containing geometric anatomy information, in particular about a digital dental impression of a patient and address information about the order computer, from each one of these order computers.

System and Method for Correcting for Distortions of a Diagnostic Image
20230013902 · 2023-01-19 ·

A method for correcting a geometric distortion in a diagnostic image, said method comprising the steps of: receiving a segmented volumetric image and a surface scan image, corresponding to a maxillofacial anatomy of a patient; aligning the surface scan mesh to a volumetric image; and applying a transformation to the surface scan image mesh in which the geometry of a HV-LD is altered yielding the surface scan image mesh with tooth crowns closely corresponding to the volumetric image teeth image resulting in a correction for the geometric distortion.

A natural and sustainable material is derived from the nut of the tagua palm tree that may be fashioned into devices for humans and animals. A pulverized and reconstituted material is disclosed herein that is also treated with a low temperature atmospheric plasma treatment. In an embodiment, a biocompatible carrier gas is ionized to form a biocompatible atmospheric plasma stream. Material, such as nano-scale powdered hydroxyapatite, is introduced into the plasma stream, which is then applied to the natural nut material.
