A method for the production of a dental object (1) by grinding a blank (2) made of ceramic or a ceramic-plastic composite material, wherein, for the production of a preform (3) having an outer contour (4) that differs from a final outer contour (5) of the dental object (1) to be produced, a grinding channel (8) is machined into the blank (2) or into a pre-preform (9) already made from the blank (2), in at least one grinding process using a grinding tool (6) of a grinding device (7), wherein the outer contour (4) of the preform (3) is formed with the grinding channel (8) on one edge (10) thereof, and on the edge (11) of the grinding channel (8) opposing the outer contour (4) of the preform (3), at least one remaining piece (12) is removed from the blank (2) or from the pre-preform (9) at least in sections.
Zirconia layered body
There is provided at least any of a layered body which has a change in color tone and in which it is unnecessary to select a colorant and the content of the colorant in consideration of a difference in the sintering behavior between layers, a precursor thereof, or a method for producing these. Provided is a layered body which has a structure, in which two or more layers containing stabilizer-containing zirconia and a colorant are layered, and in which types and contents of the colorants contained in the layers are equal to each other, the layered body including at least: a first layer containing a colorant and zirconia which has a stabilizer content of higher than or equal to 3.3 mol %; and a second layer containing a colorant and zirconia which has a stabilizer content different from that of the zirconia contained in the first layer.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING A GREEN BODY OR A PRINTED ARTICLE USING THE SAME
A composition can comprise particles comprising 5% by weight (wt %) or more, a photo-initiator, a curing agent, a dispersant, and an organic binder. The composition can be substantially solvent-free. In some embodiments, particles comprise 65 wt % or more. In some embodiments, the curing agent comprises dipropylene-glycol diacrylate. In some embodiments, the dispersant comprises a phosphate ester. In some embodiments, the organic binder comprises isobornyl methacrylate. In some embodiments, the composition comprises a viscosity from about 100 milliPascal-seconds to about 7,000 milliPascal-seconds. Methods of making a green body can comprise creating a composition, printing the green body using the composition, and curing the green body. Method of making a printed article can comprise creating a composition, printing a green body using the composition, curing the green body, heating the green body to remove the organic binder to form a porous article, and sintering the porous article to form the printed article.

Provided is a dental bulk block comprising a crystalline phase includes lithium disilicate as a main crystalline phase and eucryptite as a sub-crystalline phase in an amorphous glass matrix that is a functionally graded material having a main crystalline size gradient with respect to the depth thereof, and having no interface at the point of change in the main crystalline size gradient value, and is useful for manufacturing artificial teeth having structural characteristics similar to those of natural teeth, is facile to machine into an artificial tooth prosthesis due to the inclusion of eucryptite as the sub-crystalline phase compared to when only lithium disilicate exists, and can not only shorten the manufacturing time, but also increase the structural stability in terms of force distribution through functional grading of mechanical properties.
System and method of making printed articles
A system for forming a product with different size particles is disclosed. The system comprises at least one print head region configured to retain a first group of print heads configurable to additively print at least a first portion of the product with a first material and a second group of print heads configurable to additively print at least a second portion of the product with a second material. The described system may also comprise a processor configured to regulate the first group of print heads and the second group of print heads to distribute the first material and the second material. A method of making an object by ink jet printing using the disclosed system is also disclosed.

In the transition zone, a transition geometry exists that extends three-dimensionally. The transition geometry comprises round surfaces facing towards both directions of extension of the layers.

Disclosed are a dental material with transmittance and color gradients and a method of preparing the dental material. The method includes (1) preparing at least three types of composite resin material precursor powders; (2) sequentially adding the precursor powders into a mold and performing dry pressing to obtain a preform body; alternatively, (2′) dry pressing the first type of precursor powder into a first green body, wrapping the first green body with the second type of precursor powder and then performing dry pressing to obtain a second green body, and repeating the wrapping and dry pressing operations until all types of precursor powder are dry pressed to obtain a preform body; and (3) performing hot-pressing consolidation on the preform body to obtain the desired dental material.
