A thermal lance for unplugging a vessel discharge port. The thermal lance including an elongated cylindrical hollow tube made from a combustible material, the tube having an axial length with first and second ends. The tube having a cylindrical sidewall defined by an outer wall having an outer diameter and an inner wall having an inner diameter, with a wall thickness between the outer and inner walls. The tube having a longitudinal axis. At least one projection is formed integrally on the first end and has a length extending away from the first end in substantially the same direction as the longitudinal axis. A telescoping thermal lance assembly is also disclosing that includes a housing and an extension tube within which the lance is located.
LANCE WITH BLOWOUT PREVENTER, OXYGEN FLOW REDUCER AND IMPROVED IGNITION SYSTEM
A telescoping thermal lance assembly including a housing with an oxygen inlet port. An extension tube disposed in the housing. The extension tube having a cylindrical interior cavity. The extension tube configured to slide at least partially out of the housing when pressurized oxygen is channeled into the inlet port. A cylindrical lance tube is located within the interior cavity of the extension tube and slides partially out of the extension tube when pressurized oxygen is channeled into the housing. A slice rod is located within the lance tube. A cap is attached to the top of the extension tube and spaced apart from the tip of the lance tube. A tubular blow-out preventer sleeve is located between the cap and the top of the lance tube and has an outer diameter less than the inner diameter of the extension tube.
Melting pot, and float salvaging apparatus and method for melting pot
A melting pot includes a pot body and a float salvaging apparatus. The pot body is provided with a melting chamber having an open upper end. The float salvaging apparatus includes a hanging bracket, a bearing plate, a rotating plate and a drive assembly configured to drive pivoting of the rotating plate. The hanging bracket is disposed above the melting chamber. The rotating plate is pivotably disposed on the bearing plate, and the bearing plate and the rotating plate are provided on the hanging bracket between an initial position and a first salvaging position in a manner of moving up and down. The drive assembly is connected to the rotating plate.
Method and device for detecting variables in the outlet of a metallurgical vessel
With a method for detecting variables in an outlet of a metallurgical vessel, different variables in the outlet are detected or measured by at least one coil surrounding the outlet channel and/or an induction coil of an induction heater as a monitoring system, wherein the variables relate to the slag portion when pouring out the metal melt, wear condition of refractory parts in the outlet channel, the solidified metal melt, flow rate and/or plugging mass in the outlet channel. After evaluation, a closure element for the outlet is actuated, heating of the metal in the outlet channel is activated and/or renewal of the outlet channel is triggered. In this way, optimum operation in the pouring of metal melt out of a vessel is simply achieved, wherein occurrence of irregularities are detected during the entire pouring, and pouring out of slag can be successfully prevented at the end of the pouring.
MUD GUN CAP
Exemplary embodiments of mud gun caps are disclosed herein. An exemplary mud gun cap includes a flame-resistant body that has a tap hole contacting surface. The flame-resistant body has side wall; a first bore and a second bore located within the flame-resistant body. The first bore has a first diameter and second bore has a second diameter. The first diameter is smaller than the second diameter and the second bore is located farther away from the tap hole contacting surface than the first bore.
Sliding closure for a metallurgical vessel
The invention relates to a sliding closure (10) for a metallurgical vessel comprising a tapping hole (1) for draining metal melt or slag, said sliding closure being provided with a slider housing (3) that can be secured to the vessel (2) and a closure plate (6) that can move therein for opening and closing the tapping hole (1). The sliding closure (10) also has only this moveable closure plate (6), without a stationary closure plate, which is can be moved directly on a sliding surface (7), extending around the tapping hole, preferably of a casing block (9) in the vessel (2) and can be pressed by pretensioning elements. In this way, this sliding closure (10) provides a constructionally simpler structure and user-friendly handling.
Tap-hole refurbishing
A method for refurbishing a tap-hole including making a channel trough a tap-hole block, restoring the channel to form a refurbished tap-hole, detachably connecting a prefabricated refractory insert including a shell to a clay gun, where the insert includes a first and second ends in axial direction, where the second end is blocked, an opening arranged on the first end, a hollow passage in the axial direction, where the hollow passage is accessible through the opening, a plurality of lateral through holes, aligned in a longitudinal direction of the shell, with a constant interval covering 10-25% of the shell, the method further including inserting the insert into the channel, where the clay gun is fluidly coupled with the insert and the channel, injecting a grouting material from the clay gun into the insert and through the through hole into the channel and, disconnecting the insert from the clay gun.
Apparatus for shaving tap hole surface of blast furnace or the like
An apparatus for shaving a tap hole surface of a blast furnace or the like wherein efficiency can be improved, and a worker can be freed from physically burdensome work in the vicinity of the lower furnace wall of a blast furnace under high temperature. The apparatus includes a surface shaving unit having smoothing bits, and a rotating mechanism unit that, when the surface shaving unit is pressed against the tap hole surface, rotates the surface shaving unit, by utilizing the pressing force, by a predetermined angle in a predetermined direction substantially parallel to the surface, and holds the surface shaving unit at the rotated position. The rotating mechanism unit eliminates the need for work such that every time a conventional surface shaving unit is separated from the tap hole surface after being pressed against the surface, a worker manually rotates the surface shaving unit by a predetermined angle.
Control of the working frequency of an impact mechanism
Control device of an impact mechanism operable by a pressure media having an element for reversing the axial pressurization of the percussion piston and the return of the medium. In order to achieve a controllability of impact mechanisms by which the energy and the frequency of the moved percussion piston can be adjusted, at least one channel switchable by the reversal as a return line for the medium from the percussion hammer has at least one switchable element for the flow control.
PNEUMATIC DRILLING DEVICE
A pneumatic drilling device comprising: an impact manifold or cylinder in fluid communication with a rotary air manifold or gear box; and a single air inlet. The single air inlet may be in fluid communication with the impact manifold or cylinder.
