A dross removal device including: a dross robot that is configured to collect a bath surface dross present on a bath surface of a coating bath; a dross sensor that is configured to measure an intensity of infrared light from the bath surface of the coating bath; a dross sensor control device that is configured to specify a position of the bath surface dross according to a temporal change amount in the intensity of the infrared light; and a dross robot control device that is configured to cause the dross robot to collect the bath surface dross at the position specified by the dross sensor control device.
Steel sheet shape control method and steel sheet shape control apparatus
A steel sheet shape control method includes, (A) setting a target correction shape of the steel sheet at a position of an electromagnet to a curved shape, (B) measuring a steel sheet shape when electromagnetic correction is performed, (C) calculating the steel sheet shape in a nozzle position based on the steel sheet shape, (D) repeating (B) and (C) by resetting the target correction shape to a curved shape having a smaller amount of warp, (E) when the amount of warp of the steel sheet shape at the position of the nozzle is less than the upper limit value, (F) calculating vibration of the steel sheet at the position of the nozzle, and (G) adjusting a control gain of the electromagnet until amplitude of vibration is less than a second upper limit value when the amplitude of the vibration is equal to or more than the second upper limit value.
Roller for deflecting or guiding a metal strip, which is to be coated, in a metal melt bath
A roller for deflecting or guiding a metal strip to be coated in a metal melt bath may include bearing journals disposed coaxially with one another for rotationally supporting the roller. To obtain a high coating quality while hot-dip coating the metal strip, in particular steel strip, and to increase the service life of such a roller, each bearing journal may comprise a plurality of axially spaced annular elevations that have or are formed from a plain-bearing coating. The roller may comprise a steel roller shell, and each bearing journal may include a substantially cylindrical or circular-disk-shaped connecting steel portion that extends radially in the direction of the roller shell. At least one of the connecting portions may comprise a passage opening at an end face of the roller shell. The passage may be closed by means of a gas-permeable plug element comprised of ceramic material.
Method and coating device for coating a metal strip
The invention relates to a method for coating a metal strip with the aid of a coating device. Within the coating device, the strip first runs through a coating container with a liquid coating agent and then a stripping nozzle device for stripping off excess coating agent from the surface of the strip. After the stripping nozzle device, the strip typically runs through a strip stabilizing device with a plurality of magnets on both broad sides of the strip. A form control deviation is determined as the difference between a determined actual form of the strip and a specified desired form of the strip and this form control deviation is used for activating the magnets of the strip stabilizing device in order to transform the actual form of the strip into the desired form. As an alternative possibility for producing a moment, in particular a bending moment, in the strip, on the basis of the form control deviation the magnets of the strip stabilizing device 130 are moved in the widthwise direction R of the strip 200 into a traversing position in relation to the magnets on the respectively opposite broad side of the strip.
ROLL FOR USE IN A HOT DIP COATING LINE
A continuous coating line includes a roll assembly exposed to molten metal. The roll assembly includes a roll rotatable relative to a bearing block. The roll includes a roll portion and a journal protruding from each end of the roll portion. The roll is made from a refractory ceramic material that is resistant to wear, abrasion, and corrosion when the roll is exposed to the molten metal.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EXTENDING THE CAMPAIGN LIFE OF STABILIZERS FOR A COATING LINE
A steel processing line includes a roller submerged in a quantity of molten metal. The roller includes two journals. Each journal is received by an opening defined by a roller sleeve having a ceramic or refractory material. The roller sleeve is disposed between each journal and a bearing block to reduce or prevent wear on the journal. An inner dimension of each roller sleeve and an outer dimension of each respective journal defines a clearance. The inner dimension of each roller sleeve and the outer dimension of each respective journal is configured such that the clearance persists as the roller and the pair of roller sleeves are heated by the molten metal.
