Blender blade formed of titanium or titanium alloy
A blender blade formed of titanium or titanium alloy is described herein. The blender blade comprises a central portion and one or more blade wings extending therefrom. Each blade wing comprises a leading edge, wherein the leading edge is work hardened to cause the leading edge to have a first hardness which is harder than a second hardness of the central portion. The central portion is in an annealed condition. The first hardness is in a range of about 40-50 HRC, the second hardness is in a range of about 20-30 HRC. Subsequent to work hardening, the leading edge can undergo nitriding and/or layer deposition.
Integrated Surface Treatments and Coatings for Artificial Lift Pump Components
Artificial lift pump components such as couplings are disclosed, all having a body formed from a selected material, the body having an inner diameter and an outer diameter, a first surface treatment introducing carbon, nitrogen, boron into the material to form a first and hard layer, and a second layer defined as an deposited coating to the first layer that is also made of a carbon, nitrogen, or boron and is further characterized as being ceramic like (hard) and having a low-friction.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SURFACE-HARDENED MATERIAL
A method for producing a surface-hardened material, comprising: an immersion step of immersing an iron steel material having nitrogen attached in the form of a solid solution on the surface thereof in a melt containing a chloride at a temperature ranging from 650 C. to 900 C.; and a cooling step of cooling the immersed iron steel material to a temperature equal to or lower than a martensitic transformation start temperature at a cooling rate equal to or higher than a lower critical cooling rare at which martensitic transformation starts.

Applying coatings to the interior surfaces of heat exchangers
A system for coating an interior surface of a heat exchanger includes a tank for storing the coating solution, a pump, a source line for supplying the coating solution to the heat exchanger, and a return line for returning the remainder of the coating solution to the tank. The system can include a pre-treatment line for supplying a pre-treatment solution to the heat exchanger and a water line for supplying water to the heat exchanger. An air compressor can be coupled to the heat exchanger to force the coating solution, the pre-treatment solution, or the water from the heat exchanger.
Coating system for tubular gripping components
A gripping tool for gripping oilfield tubulars includes a gripping element having a substrate, and at least one gripping surface configured to engage an oilfield tubular, the at least one gripping surface being formed on the gripping element. The at least one gripping surface includes a coating on an outer surface of the substrate, the coating includes a carrier and a plurality of particles at least partially embedded in the carrier. The particles each have a hardness that is greater than a hardness of the carrier and a base metal of the gripping element, and the particles extend outward from the carrier and are configured to engage a structure that is gripped by the gripping tool.

HYBRID PROCESS FOR ENHANCED SURFACE HARDENING
A hybrid method of surface hardening metallic components using a combination of chemical modification achieved through additive manufacturing and/or diffusion-based processing with transformation-based processing using a high energy density heat source. The hybrid process results in increased surface hardness and/or increased average case hardness and/or increased case depth compared to either treatment individually.
