TONGUE DEBRIDING APPARATUS
Surface debriding systems and instruments are provided that efficiently and effectively dislodge and remove debris, coatings, microorganisms and fluids from the dorsum of the tongue or other surfaces. The instrument has a debriding surface with cleaning elements and a number of spaced apart openings to a hollow interior that is configured to couple with a vacuum source. The shape of the openings may be configured to amplify suction force from the vacuum source. The system also has a vacuum source and a collecting vessel with backflow valves to store removed material and to stop movement of material into the vacuum source or back out to the instrument. The system can be self-contained or the instrument may be coupled to a dental high-volume evacuator (HVE) vacuum source.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENDODONTIC TREATMENT
An apparatus for endodontic treatment, comprising: a nozzle connected to a fluid source comprising: a tip small enough to be inserted into a pulp chamber of a tooth; an inner geometry which forms a flow parameters including non-axial flow direction of nozzle fluid flowing through the inner geometry such that discharge fluid discharged from the inner geometry increase rotation of root canal fluid within a root canal sufficiently to remove tissue from the root canal.
Intraoral device with bridge
A dental mouthpiece is provided that may be attached to a high-suction dental adapter for the purpose of assisting the dental staff during dental procedures through chair-side, hands-free suction, and isolation. Such mouthpiece may include a main body portion, a cheek retractor portion, and a suction connector portion. In some embodiments, the main body portion, cheek retractor portion, and suction connector portion (and sub-portions thereof) may be molded in one piece, preferably by injection molding. In an exemplary embodiment, the mouthpiece may be made of a material that is flexible, translucent, conducive to injection molding, high heat-resistant, and autoclavable. Such a material may include silicone. Because the mouthpiece may be made of a high heat-resistant and autoclavable material, such a mouthpiece may be reusable.
Systems and methods for removal of dental biofilm using irrigation
Systems and methods for cleaning teeth by removal of dental biofilm. In one illustrative embodiment, a custom fit tray that fits over the teeth and seals against the gum of a mammal. A number of ports are embedded in the tray, each in fluid communication with a hose or line supplied with either a vacuum or an irrigant/fluid source. A small space between the tray and the teeth provides for fluid to flow around the teeth. A router may be connected to both an irrigant fluid supply reservoir and a vacuum pump to direct either fluid or vacuum to the various hoses with the routing changing over time for optimum cleaning. Air may be injected into the cleaning fluid in varying amounts, to create bubbles, water droplets, and/or boluses of the cleaning fluid to increase and focus the hydrodynamic forces of the fluid upon reaching the teeth.
SUCTION ADAPTER DEVICE
Aspects of embodiments of the present invention disclose a suction adapter used in aspirating fluid from a particular site. The adapter device may include a nozzle configured to connect with suction tubing connected with a suction source, a drain end, structurally configured to connect the adapter with a drain tube, where the drain tube may be used to aspirate a site such as a surgical site. The adapter may also include: a channel within the adapter enabling fluid flow and a suction controlling fenestration extending from the channel to the adapter's external surface. The fenestration enables a user, by progressively opening or closing the fenestration, to vary suction within the suction adapter which, in turn, varies the flow of fluid through the adapter.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERSONALIZED ORAL CARE
Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral care. A system for oral care comprises an oral insert. The oral insert is sized and shaped according to a user's oral cavity, and has a plurality of fluid nozzles and an effluence conduit to channel fluid out of the user's oral cavity. Pressurized fluid provided through the nozzles are directed to, for example, the interproximal spaces between the user's teeth. In some variations, a system comprises an oral insert and an elastomeric substrate that is attached to the oral insert. In some variations, the elastomeric substrate comprises a textured surface vibrates and/or mechanically agitates and/or translates along the surface of the user's teeth. In some variations, a system for oral care comprises a microbiome collection chamber. Some variations comprise dental shim devices that are used for acquiring oral structure data and alignment between the upper and lower arches.
System and method for containing and transporting dental waste
A dental waste containment system having a treatment stage to reduce the contaminant levels of the stored fluid. The treatment stage may include a settling canister disposed before the fluid storage reservoir to remove and contain at least some solid contaminants from the fluid waste before the fluid waste is moved into storage. The system may include a bypass subcircuit to allow fluid waste to selectively bypass the treatment stage. The present invention also provides a method of collecting, containing and transporting dental waste that includes separate containment of solid and fluid dental waste. The method includes at least partial separation and containment of solid contaminants in the treatment stage before the fluid dental waste is moved into separate storage. The accumulated fluid dental waste and accumulated solid waste may be separately collected from the system and separately transported to a remote facility for treatment, reclamation and/or disposal.
DENTAL IRRIGATION, CLEANING AND DEBRIDEMENT SYSTEM, DEVICE AND INSTRUMENT
A device for irrigating a canal during a root canal treatment or retreatment provides a fluid reservoir in fluid communication with at least one pump for delivering an irrigant under pressure. A hand-held wand has a proximal end for receiving the irrigant under pressure, permitted to flow through the wand head by an actuator. An irrigant delivery needle which affixed to the working end of the wand delivers irrigant through at least one irrigant dispersion orifice at a selected delivery angle and pressure. Aspirating means and/or shielding may optionally be provided.
ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH WITH CONTROLLED SUCTION AND IRRIGATION
A toothbrush for use by an operator and capable of being connected to a suction device and a syringe. The toothbrush includes a head, a handle, and a suction assembly. The head includes a plurality of bristles and an irrigation port configured to be in fluid communication with the syringe. The handle is coupled to the head and includes a user interface and a controller configured to actuate at least one of rotation, oscillation, and vibration of the plurality of bristles in response to feedback from the operator through the user interface. The suction assembly is coupled to one of the head and the handle and configured to be coupled to the suction device. The suction assembly includes a suction tip that is moveable relative to the head.
