Oral care device and oral care method
An oral care device for providing oral-cavity information to a user or a manager includes: a liquid supply unit; a mouthpiece connected to the liquid supply unit and including a spatial portion configured to accommodate at least one of an upper tooth side and a lower tooth side when the mouthpiece is inserted into an oral cavity; a pump connected to the mouthpiece and configured to suction liquid from the liquid supply unit and introduce the liquid into the spatial portion and to suction fluid from the spatial portion; a storage unit connected to the pump and configured to store or discharge fluid suctioned from the spatial portion; and a measuring unit connected to the storage unit and configured to measure a state of fluid stored in the storage unit, wherein liquid is introduced to the spatial portion from the liquid supply unit only by suction force of the pump.
Devices and Methods for Collecting Saliva Samples from the Oral Cavity
Provided are methods for collecting saliva from the oral cavity of a mammal comprising: placing a mouthpiece of a device comprising the mouthpiece in the oral cavity of a mammal, the mouthpiece comprising a chamber defined by front and rear inner walls and a base inner wall of the mouthpiece, each of the front and rear inner walls of the chamber comprising a plurality of openings, and a switch disposed in the mouthpiece; and the device further comprising a saliva collection reservoir, a fluid supply reservoir, a pump, and means for directing fluid through said device; activating the switch disposed in the mouthpiece to pump saliva from the oral cavity to the saliva collection reservoir for collection; deactivating the pumping of saliva to the saliva collection reservoir; and subsequently pumping fluid from the fluid supply reservoir to the mouthpiece for cleaning or treatment of the oral cavity.
Mixing system and a method of preparing an oral care composition
A mixing system adapted for installation within an oral care appliance and a method of preparing an oral care composition to be delivered to a mouthpiece of the oral care appliance are disclosed. Some of the disclosed systems and methods allow for the generation of an on-demand oral care composition for use in dental cleaning.
MOUTHPIECE FOR A DENTAL CLEANING DEVICE, METHOD OF BRUSHING TEETH, AND DENTAL CLEANING DEVICE COMPRISING THE MOUTHPIECE
A mouthpiece for a dental cleaning device comprises a supporting structure configured to encompass a plurality of teeth of a dental arch. The supporting structure has an inner surface facing a tooth surface. At least one brushing chamber is provided at the inner surface side. The brushing chamber comprises a flexible wall part being deformable by pressurizing or depressurizing the brushing chamber. Bristles extend externally from the flexible wall part. In a method of brushing teeth, a plurality of teeth is encompassed by the mouthpiece, and the at least one brushing chamber is alternatingly pressurized and depressurized.
OCCLUSAL STOP BITE RESISTOR DEVICES UTILIZED IN SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DENTAL TREATMENTS
A device, method, and system are provided for treating the oral cavity. The device includes a mouthpiece suitable for implementing a dental treatment, wherein the mouthpiece includes one or more stock elastomeric dental cover layers suitable for forming and maintaining a treatment cavity having a vacuum fluid seal, wherein the dental cover layers includes a layer over all the surfaces of the upper teeth and surrounding gums and/or a layer over all the surfaces of the lower teeth and surrounding gums, wherein each of the layers includes one or more hardened rigid or semi-rigid sections for enabling selected and/or differential collapsibility of the cover layers when exposed to vacuum pressure; and one or more treatment supply layers, and one or more flow channels in fluid communication with the treatment cavity so that the treatment supply layer can deliver and/or remove one or more treatment fluids from the one or more fluid sealed treatment cavities.
Apparatus and methods for cleaning teeth and gingival pockets
Various apparatus and methods for cleaning teeth and gingival pockets are disclosed herein. A fluid platform can include a pressure wave generator configured to propagate pressure waves through a treatment fluid. The pressure waves may be sufficient to remove undesirable dental deposits from a treatment tooth, neighboring gums, and/or spaces between the tooth and gums.
INTRAORAL FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for intraoral fluid delivery comprises a rate-controlled and/or volume-controlled fluid supply device, a reservoir for holding one or more fluids to be delivered to a patient's oral cavity, a mouthpiece to be worn by a patient at least partially within the patient's oral cavity, and tubing to carry the one or more fluids from the fluid supply device to the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece comprises a fluid inlet adjacent and/or exterior to the patient's oral cavity when the mouthpiece is worn by the patient, a fluid outlet posterior to the fluid inlet, and a fluid channel therebetween.
Method of injecting a cleaning agent and associated oral care appliance
An oral care appliance in which a cleaning agent is injected from a supply tank and a method for use of such an appliance in oral care for the teeth of one or two arches using a mouthpiece is disclosed herein.
Adaptive brushing cycle
An oral care appliance for cleaning teeth of a user and a method of adapting a brushing cycle of the oral care appliance are disclosed. Specific embodiments disclosed herein adapt the at least one brushing cycle based on a variety of factors, either alone or in combination, such as the time elapsed since a last brushing event and the identity of a user.
APPARATUS FOR DENTAL IRRIGATION
An apparatus for dental irrigation may be provided to project fluid onto the surfaces of, and the interproximal spaces between, a user's teeth and gum-line. The apparatus may comprise two hollow U-shaped manifolds having orifices located on their interior faces used as fluid jets. The manifolds may be connected, at a central point of reflection, by a rotating inlet joint which supplies the fluid flow. When placed in the user's mouth, the apparatus may be designed to receive the top and bottom sets of teeth in each corresponding U-shaped manifold, with orifices configured to provide fluid jets aligned towards the lingual and buccal side of the teeth. The orifices may be staggered to provide staggered fluid flow. A user's teeth may be cleaned with a controlled fluid flow by moving the apparatus in a sweeping motion between each set of rear molars.
