A system and a method for a hands-free dental suction device includes a contoured tube that may be connected to dental suction lines commonly found in dental operatories. One specific embodiment includes features which allow the hands-free suction device to be attached to a dental lip/cheek retractor, and/or to the patient's lip, in a manner that is both comfortable for the patient and allows convenient, unobscured access to the patient's oral cavity. One potential benefit of the device is the collection and removal of dangerous aerosols generated during dental procedures which may be responsible for spreading disease.

An intra-oral appliance, an internal member and an external member is provided. The internal member can include a tongue crib, a poseable first arm connected at a first end to the back end of the tongue crib, and a poseable second arm connected at a first end to the back end of the tongue crib. The poseable first arm and the poseable second allow the tongue crib to be moved into a position and held in the position. The external member can include a first lip retractor, a second lip retractor, a first retractor flange, a second retractor flange and connectors attachable to the first arm and the second arm of the internal member.

An intra-oral appliance, an internal member and an external member is provided. The internal member can include a tongue crib, a poseable first arm connected at a first end to the back end of the tongue crib, and a poseable second arm connected at a first end to the back end of the tongue crib. The poseable first arm and the poseable second allow the tongue crib to be moved into a position and held in the position. The external member can include a first lip retractor, a second lip retractor, a first retractor flange, a second retractor flange and connectors attachable to the first arm and the second arm of the internal member.

An exemplary hands-free dental suction and retraction device includes a spray capture element, at least one oral partition element, at least one lateral suction tube, and a retraction shroud. The spray capture element may be curved around a longitudinal axis. The spray capture element may define a suction passageway therein and have a plurality of suction apertures each extending between the suction passageway and an outer ambient zone. The outer ambient zone may be defined between the spray capture element and the longitudinal axis. The oral partition elements have one or more suction perforations. An inner ambient zone is defined between the oral partition element and longitudinal axis. The lateral suction tube may be in fluid communication between the suction perforations and the suction passageway. The retraction shroud may extend about the longitudinal axis and be axially disposed at least between the spray capture element and the oral partition element.

An exemplary hands-free dental suction and retraction device includes a spray capture element, at least one oral partition element, at least one lateral suction tube, and a retraction shroud. The spray capture element may be curved around a longitudinal axis. The spray capture element may define a suction passageway therein and have a plurality of suction apertures each extending between the suction passageway and an outer ambient zone. The outer ambient zone may be defined between the spray capture element and the longitudinal axis. The oral partition elements have one or more suction perforations. An inner ambient zone is defined between the oral partition element and longitudinal axis. The lateral suction tube may be in fluid communication between the suction perforations and the suction passageway. The retraction shroud may extend about the longitudinal axis and be axially disposed at least between the spray capture element and the oral partition element.

The Surgical Lingual Retractor Plus device is unique because there are not retractors similar to it, either due to its simplification that allows to retract tissue and protect anatomical structures at the same time, it can fulfill the function of suction of fluids and illumination of the surgical area to be treated by the dental professional or other medical professionals. The protection that it provides to the tissues is contemplated by the fact that it is a device made of stainless steel, providing protection against cutting and high-speed rotating instruments. This device will have a grip component, a retraction component and a protection component connected to a suction and lighting system, all with the purpose of being able to perform all the functions at the same time during the surgery, once simplifies the psychomotor actions by the operator (dental or medical professionals).

Aspects of the present invention relate to a dental retractor for controlling the position of soft tissue within a mouth, the dental retractor comprising: a lip retractor for controlling the position of a lip; and a cheek retractor comprising a pair of arms for controlling the position of a cheek; and wherein the dental retractor comprises a tongue retractor removably coupled to the dental retractor for controlling the position of a tongue.

The invention relates to a suction device for intraoral use, comprising a suction line and a tongue protection, said suction line being bent substantially U-shaped, which are configured by a molded part, in particular integrally with one another. The suction tube comprises a connection which points mesially for a suction hose. In the course of the suction tube the connection is adjoined by an upper U-leg, a mesial U-central portion and a lower U-leg, said legs extending distally from the U-central portion. The lower U-leg comprises suction openings and is surrounded by a suction sponge which covers the suction openings. The suction tube terminates at the distal end of the lower U-leg in an end suction opening which is covered by the suction sponge.
