Composition for removing sulfur-containing compounds
Provided is a composition capable of safely and efficiently removing a sulfur-containing compound, especially hydrogen sulfide, an SH group-containing compound or a mixture thereof contained in a hydrocarbon, and not causing metal corrosion in devices. The composition is for removing a sulfur-containing compound in a hydrocarbon, wherein the sulfur-containing compound is hydrogen sulfide, an SH group-containing compound or a mixture thereof, and the composition contains a dialdehyde having 6 to 16 carbon atoms and a polyalkylene glycol.
DEOXIDIZING AGENT FOR BOILERS AND METHOD FOR DEOXIDIZING BOILER WATER SYSTEM
The present invention provides a deoxidizing agent for boilers excellent in an oxygen removal effect under wide temperature conditions. The deoxidizing agent for boilers comprises (A) a hydroxylamine compound represented by the following general formula (I), (B) a heterocyclic compound having an N-substituted amino group, and (C) an aminophenol derivative represented by the following general formula (II),

PROCESS FOR CONTROLLING CORROSION IN PETROLEUM REFINING UNITS
A process for controlling corrosion and fouling in petroleum refining units. The corrosion controlling agent comprises an amine and an alcohol. The process comprises the step of adding the amine and the alcohol to the overhead system of the petroleum refining unit, either separately or in combination.
Corrosion resistant spray applied fire resistive materials
The present disclosure relates to corrosion resistant coating compositions, kits and methods of applying the same, for use as fireproofing materials. The corrosion resistant spray applied fire resistant material contains an organic corrosion inhibitors, such as an aldonic acid, benzoic acid, or combinations thereof, to reduce or eliminate corrosion of the underlying substrate.
Mitigation of corrosion in geothermal systems
Corrosion inhibitor blends including one or more ether compounds, one or more quaternary ammonium compounds, and one or more fatty acid amine condensates are disclosed. The corrosion inhibitor blends can be used in methods of inhibiting corrosion of a metallic surface in a geothermal process. In one method, an effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor blend may be added to a production well in a geothermal process. In another method, an effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor blend may be added to a geothermal medium, which could be, for example, steam or liquid brine.
COMPOSITIONS OF VAPOR PHASE CORROSION INHIBITORS AND THEIR USE AS WELL AS METHODS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE
The invention relates to corrosion-inhibiting substance combinations capable of evaporation or sublimation, containing at least: (1) substituted 1,4-benzoquinone, (2) aromatic or alicyclic substituted carbamate, (3) polysubstituted phenol, and (4) monosubstituted pyrimidine. These combinations preferably include 1-30 mass % of component (1), 5-40 mass % of component (2), 2-20 mass % of component (3), and 0.5-10 mass % of component (4), each relating to the total quantity of the substance combination. The components can be provided mixed together or dispersed in water, or also pre-mixed in solubilizer that can be mixed with mineral oils and synthetic oils, preferably an arylalkylether alcohol such as, e.g., phenoxyethanol. Such substance combinations can be used as vapor phase corrosion inhibitors in packaging or during storage in closed spaces for protecting common commodity metals such as iron, chrome, nickel, aluminum, copper and their alloys as well as galvanized steels, against atmospheric corrosion.
Environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors for high temperature applications
Methods of inhibiting corrosion of metal surfaces by aqueous acids are described. The methods include combining an effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor composition with an aqueous acid solution to form an inhibited acid solution and contacting a metal surface with the inhibited acid solution. The corrosion inhibitor composition includes an aromatic ketone or a salt thereof.
Coupling agents for use in corrosion inhibiting compositions
Corrosion inhibition compositions and methods useful for inhibiting corrosion are provided. The corrosion inhibition compositions comprise at least one coupling agent and at least one corrosion inhibitor, wherein the at least one coupling agent is at least one of one or more ether amines, one or more ether amine oxides, and at least one combination thereof, and the at least one corrosion inhibitor is at least one selected from one or more thiophosphates, one or more polyphosphate esters, one or more imidazolines, one or more quinolines, one or more alkynols, one or more alkynol derivatives, and at least one combination thereof. The methods for inhibiting corrosion on metal surfaces utilize the disclosed corrosion inhibiting compositions.
NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
A nuclear power plant comprising a primary coolant circuit, a steam-water circuit separated from the primary coolant circuit and a steam generator connected to the primary coolant circuit and the steam-water circuit to transfer heat from the primary coolant circuit into the steam-water circuit has at least one dosing point in the steam-water circuit to inject a reducing agent into the steam-water circuit, wherein the reducing agent is an organic compound consisting of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Furthermore, a method for operating said nuclear power plant and the use of the method for downtime preservation of the secondary side of a steam generator of a nuclear power plant are provided.
LOW WATER SOLUBILITY COMPOSITIONS FOR USE IN CORROSION PROTECTION
The invention relates to compositions, methods and preparation of such compositions to protect metals from corrosion, especially acid corrosion. The compositions of this invention may be added to acids to protect metals from their corrosive influence, particularly at elevated temperatures. These compositions are of particular utility in the oil and gas (petroleum) industry. Also disclosed are corrosion inhibition intensifiers to enhance the corrosion inhibition properties of other corrosion inhibitors. Formulations which control ferric ions in acidic solutions are also disclosed. These may be combined with inhibited acids and some compositions provide both corrosion inhibition and ferric ion control.
