Provided is a method of manufacturing a structure that can be easily bonded to a bonding target. The method of manufacturing a structure includes: a conductive layer forming step of forming a conductive layer having conductivity on a part of a surface of an insulating support including at least one surface; a valve metal layer forming step of forming a valve metal layer that covers at least a part of the conductive layer; an anodic oxidation film forming step of forming an anodic oxidation film by performing an anodization treatment on the valve metal layer in a region on the conductive layer using the conductive layer as an electrode; a micropore forming step of forming a plurality of micropores that extend in a thickness direction on the anodic oxidation film; and a filling step of filling the micropores with a conductive material, in which a valve metal layer removing step of removing the valve metal layer having undergone the anodic oxidation film forming step is performed between the anodic oxidation film forming step and the filling step.
LOW-DENSITY INTERCONNECTED IONIC MATERIAL FOAMS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Ultralow density ionic material foams, with density approaching 0.1% of the bulk density, and synthesis methods using interconnected metallic nanowires are provided. Nanowires of various sizes and metals are dispersed into a freezable liquid through a suitable fluid exchange. Surface treatments ensure that nanowires remain sufficiently metallic and physically separated. Wire-liquid solutions can be dropped directly into liquid nitrogen in the form of droplets or placed into molds of various shapes. A freeze drying technique is employed to turn the resulting ice-wire mixture into a freestanding, low-density foam composed of interlocked nanowires. Sintering or oxidation and reduction treatment of the foam material at elevated temperatures is used to connect the nanowires into an interconnected metallic foam. Metals of the metal foams are then processed into ionic materials including oxides, nitrides, chlorides, hydrides, fluorides, iodides and carbides.
Manufacture of coils for electrotechnical components using strips of unsealed anodized aluminum
A method for manufacturing a strip of impregnated anodized aluminum, for use in a coil of an electrotechnical component, said coil including an interstitial material providing dielectric cohesion and insulation functions, said interstitial material being suitable for cross-linking, in other words for forming, by chemical reactions between the components thereof when subjected to certain physical conditions, molecular structures being organized in a lattice, the method comprising: a step of applying the precursor mixture of said interstitial material to the anodized aluminum; at least one step of cross-linking the precursor mixture in order to form said interstitial material on the strip of aluminum; wherein the anodized aluminum has not been subjected to the sealing of the pores of the alumina formed by anodization prior to the application of the precursor mixture of said interstitial material.
High-modulus coating for local stiffening of airfoil trailing edges
An airfoil is disclosed. The airfoil may comprise a leading edge, a body portion and a trailing edge formed from a high-modulus plating. The body portion of the airfoil may be formed from a material having a lower elastic modulus than the high-modulus plating. The high-modulus plating may improve the stiffness of the trailing edge, allowing for thinner trailing edges with improved fatigue life to be formed.

Erosion and wear protection for composites and plated polymers
A composite component and a plated polymer component are disclosed. The composite component may comprise a body portion formed from an organic matrix composite, a first metal coating applied to a surface of the body portion, and an outer metal layer on the first metal coating that is erosion-resistant. The plated polymer component may comprise a polymer substrate, a metal plating layer applied to a surface of the polymer substrate, and at least one selectively thickened region in the metal plating layer. The at least one selectively thickened region may assist in protecting the plated polymer component against wear and/or erosion.

Process for enhanced corrosion protection of anodized aluminum
Processes for enhancing the corrosion resistance of anodized substrates are disclosed. In some embodiments, the process involves a second anodizing operation that targets an area of the substrate that is left inadequately protected by a first anodizing operation, and also targets defects that may have been arisen from intermediate processing operations such as laser-marking operations. The second anodizing operation can be conducted in a non-pore-forming electrolyte, and grows a thick protective barrier film over inadequately protected areas of the substrate, such as laser-marking treated areas.
