Lateral branch detection device, lateral branch detection probe, lateral branch detection method, and program for same
Provided is a lateral branch detection probe whereby the condition of a lateral branch can be detected merely by inserting the lateral branch detection probe to an apex. A lateral branch detection probe detects, after insertion thereof into a root canal of a tooth, the presence/absence of a lateral branch and the position of the lateral branch in the root canal axis direction, the lateral branch detection probe being provided with a plurality of measurement electrodes extending to different positions in the root canal axis direction at predetermined intervals. The measurement electrodes constitute a measurement terminal group in which each measurement electrode is covered with an insulator except for one end portion, and another end portion thereof is connectable to a detection-purpose power supply on a detection device side.
Periodontal pocket probing device
A periodontal pocket probing device facilitating fabrication and application and effectively reducing the cost is disclosed to include a main body, and a probe having a connection portion located at one end thereof and connected to the main body and a flat probing tip located at an opposite end thereof and defining a flat front end edge on a front side thereof opposite to the connection portion for allowing the produced pressure to be distributed in all directions to reduce the patient's pain upon insertion of the probe into the deep inside of a periodontal pocket.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS RELATED TO PERIODONTAL MEASUREMENTS
In some embodiments, a method for measuring a periodontal condition can include generating or obtaining radiograph data for a tooth and a respective bone structure, generating or obtaining surface data for the tooth, the surface data including surface information of a gum tissue associated with the tooth, and combining the radiograph data and the surface data such that a feature of the tooth in the radiograph data substantially matches with a corresponding feature of the tooth in the surface data. The method can further include calculating a periodontal parameter from the combination of the radiograph data and the surface data, with the periodontal parameter being indicative of the periodontal condition.
Method for scanning material using an ultrasonic imaging probe
At least one embodiment of a method for scanning material using a dental ultrasonic imaging probe comprising an ultrasonic device configured for emitting ultrasound signals within at least two emitting cones and for receiving corresponding echoed ultrasound signals, the at least two emitting cones extending in different directions, the method comprising: receiving an item of information relating to a direction for emitting an ultrasound signal; selecting one of the received corresponding echoed ultrasound signals or the ultrasound signals to be emitted as a function of the received item of information.
Tooth display measurement device
A tooth display measurement device includes a measurement portion, an inner surface and an outer surface. A tooth rest platform projects outwardly from the inner surface. The tooth rest platform is spaced between the upper end and the lower end, and ruler markings are printed or otherwise affixed on the outer surface. A a handle projects from the lower end of the measurement portion. The device assists in an accurate reading of tooth display as the measurement portion is inserted between the lip and the teeth of the user with the tooth rest platform abutting the biting edge of the tooth to be measured.
DENTAL INSTRUMENT WITH REMOVABLE DENTAL TIP AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A dental instrument includes at least one removable or replaceable dental tip. The dental instrument includes a spring actuated collet and collar housed internally within a handle. The handle includes a handle center affixed to a center rod and a grip portion housing the collet and collar and a handle center affixed to a center rod. The center rod is affixed to the collet. The collet includes spring fingers that are biased radially inward by the collar to retain the dental tip. When the grip portion of the handle is rotated about a longitudinal axis of the handle relative to the handle center, camming surfaces associated with the grip portion and the handle center cause translational movement along the longitudinal axis to engage or disengage the collar from the collet.
LASER ASSISTED WOUND HEALING PROTOCOL AND SYSTEM
The present invention provides for devices and methods of treating wounds, including general wounds, gum disease and gingival tissues post scaling/root planning, using a diode laser which generates a beam of light having a wavelength in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum (400 nm-700 nm). Further disclosed are devices and methods capable of stimulating tissue regeneration at the site of a wound.
Laser-assisted periodontics
There is a need for a minimally invasive surgical treatment method for periodontitis for the removal of deep pockets, elimination of disease, creation of reattachment of the gingiva to the tooth surface and true regeneration of the attachment apparatus (new cementum, new periodontal ligament, and new alveolar bone) on a previously diseased root surface. The PerioLase? MVP-7? including eGUI or another device capable of laser dosimetry, such as an original MVP-7? type laser without the eGUI, achieves this with the LANAP protocol (laser-assisted new attachment procedure) and the LENAP protocol (laser excisional new attachment procedure).
SINGLET OXYGEN GENERATING DEVICE FOR SELECTIVE DESTRUCTION OF PATHOGENS
A device for generating singlet oxygen is provided. The device has elongated posts extending from a surface, the lateral sides of which have particles with a sensitizer that converts triplet oxygen to single oxygen upon exposure to light. An optical fiber conveys light to the sensitizer and a gas supply tube conveys oxygen to the sensitizer. The device is configured to keep the sensitizer from contacting external fluids, such as saliva.
TIP FOR AN INTRAORAL SCANNER
The present invention relates to a tip for an intraoral scanner, comprising: a housing body having an imaging unit through which images are transferred to an imaging module of the intraoral scanner, at least one aperture adapted to provide gas streams, wherein said at least one aperture is configured such that during a scanning session a scanned region is first being cleaned (e.g., from blood or oral particles) by gas streams prior to the actual scanning of said region by said imaging unit, while after the cleaning and during the actual scanning of said region, said at least one aperture causes gas streams to diffuse around the entire periphery of said cleaned and scanned region.
